Questions for the ambassadors to ask lego for us.

Post by Dr.Cogg »

Post a question for the Ambassadors.Mine is,could one of the Ambassadors ask if the Elves are a real Faction so that we don't have to speculate anymore.

I know from personal experience (having known quite a few Ambassadors) that they can't answer questions about upcoming lines. They aren't allowed to confirm or deny, as I understand it.

The Ambassador position is really more about Lego asking what the community thinks about certain things, not getting answers from the company for the community.

As a former LA, I can attest that Josh is 99.9% correct - the communication goes both ways. Furthermore, Ambassadors are not privy to information about all forthcoming LEGO sets, despite what you may hear or believe from other forums.

Moreover, I'd say this thread should be moved to the "Dear LEGO" forum, and checked for proper spelling and grammar beforehand.

That's the beauty of that map. Look at all of the discussions that have happened due just a little tidbit "tease." I think that LEGO corp wanted to test the waters by throwing out a crum and seeing if we(FOLs) bit. It could be that LEGO wanted to ask us about this but did not want to use official "channels" to do so. I don't think LEGO did this as a mistake.

I think you are right. TLC if anything seems to have a great network for the collection and employment of information...

They move in secret circles and secret societies. There is much mystery about the Brick and the control of information increases the public appetite for more.

Tower

What you way makes sense, but what i wonder is this. Why is it better for TLG to send out a stealth teaser than to us eofficial channels?

I think the teaser was more of a public puzzle than anything. In this way everyone was given equal information (or lack thereof) and in the same fashion through a pre-approved printed image. It's a treasure hunt, which I like very much.

I don't think this was a mistake at all. Lego has done this sort of "tease" before. They seem to like to do it with maps. I'm sure there are many examples that I don't know about, but I do remember the Chinese Dragon in Orient Expedition. Just an outline of its head on a map. Then they did it with KK2, by naming places on the map before those sets came out.

Finally, last year, they did it on the large poster-type image that had shadowy giant trolls and a sailing ship.

Seems to be standard operating procedure to me. ;)

If there was no response, i.e - no discussions on any of the FOL sites like this one then they might rethink their product line. They would be more apt to commit money to a new product if most of the AFOLs and TFOLs are a least interested in it.

At the same time they might be trying to prevent the competition from getting a jump start on a new line. Competitors may try to copy the "elves" and try to steal sales by undercutting store prices.
