However, it doesn't mention any specific book, and the only Knights' Kingdom storybook I can find is a KKII one about Morcia.

I remember seeing a book for KK1. I almost even think I might have read a copy online or something. But I certainly don't remember anything about Cedric and Leo being related. For the curious, here's the book I remember from KK1:

What I DO remember reading ... somewhere... was something that said that Cedric was once King Leo's most trusted knight, and then ended up betraying Leo and trying to take over the castle. But despite looking for that reference many times, I've never been able to find it since, which makes me wonder if it was on LEGO's website. I think I looked for it in the above book (not sure where I might have seen the pages), but I don't remember seeing anything about a backstory at the time. I could easily be misremembering, though-- it's been quite a while!
