I have no actual knowledge or data to back this up, but I suspect the collect fig may be the downfall of an impulse set. But oh they were great while they existed and a great deal. Especially if you are a pirate girl and you wanted a better army for your pirates to humiliate with a water canon. :halo: Or you wanted a ton of pigs for a farm. Sure the wizard and the jester weren't as awesome as the knight we had, but they were still great.

Or maybe they have moved the impulses into polybags? Either way there are some good polybags too.

But back to topic...what I really want is a series of decent medieval shops. We've gotten blacksmiths and they were...okay. There are other kinds of shops...mills...it would be nice to see one or two of those.

Oh and...arrows. Separate arrows..please. and maybe an actual quiver for them to sit into. An arrow with a stud on the end, and an arrow without a stud.

Ooh, I like your thinking. The shops sound exciting, but the arrows would be awesome! I know that Brickforge makes them, but Lego purist ones would be epic! That shop idea sounds very interesting, even homes would be awesome, with interiors.

AND LESS PANELS! Make them like LOTR, where you build them, and not use lots of one big piece. :?

I wouldn't mind if polybags had replaced impulses sets if polybags weren't so hard to find! They seem to be almost non-existent in the UK, other than in newspaper/store promos. There may be a martketing reason for this, or just when they do appear, due to the low price, people buy them all up and stick them on ebay.

That said, I'd still like some 'hero' characters.

I'd also enjoy seeing a third faction introduced eg a reimagined forestmen or wolfpack. I think AFOLs would go crazy for them.

This begs the question, if they keep getting scooped up by prospective resellers, why doesn't Lego manufacture enough to keep them stocked? If you're selling a product, you'd think you would want to meet the demand with enough supply.

I'm really hoping to get some of the Laketown guard polys, but judging by the Mirkwood Elf and how tough it was to get some of those, I'm not holding my breath :(

And TFOLs! I agree, they should release another faction, and definitely more if an outlaw one that doesn't appear to be on anyone's side.

Yeah it would seem the impulses are gone now in lieu of the polybags. But, like AK has stated, why aren't more of these guys being sold in stores? I can't ever find polybags, anywhere in my area. I go to four different Walmarts, two Kmarts, a Target, a Toys R Us... the only one that ever has any polybags is the TRU, and its selection is so weak its laughable.

I want those Hobbit polys real bad, but I've already resigned myself to paying $10.00+ if I really want them. No thanks.

I know that Target has them, in the checkout section, on the walls with the candy/miscellaneous, on the bottom are usually the polybags. But I NEVER see any lotr poly bags. :?

I agree with AK and SSchmidt, Lego should make it easier to find, they would make some good money. But if I don't find it in the store, or same price on amazon (or cheaper), I don't think i will spend DOUBLE the amount to get it on Bricklink, I just don't think it is worth it.

So yeah, I would love for Lego to release more polybags (in stores), that would be awesome!

Remember, the contracts with the "box stores" often limit sets and polybags to their stores only. The box stores want something that pull people in, like any store would want, so...when TRU, Target, etc get something special...well it is meant to be special. This happens all over the world with LEGO and reality is, you can find them, if you want them and want to pay for them. Otherwise, well I can't see this going away.

I would totally go for individual medieval shops in the $20-30 range. It might include a couple figs and/or animals, a decent sized building, accessories/tools and whatnot. I think it could help the Castle theme broaden a bit and become a little more diverse. I don't know about you, but I'd like to have the towers and catapults defending something other than more soldiers.

I would love to have a bunch of shops, too. Also, like was previously stated, "hero"characters, like lords and knights with names. Also, in the next castle wave, PLEASE name the big one something other than "kings castle"!!! How about a castle with an interesting name like we used to get, like " steelwall fortress".

Thirding the request for shops! And maybe some other town features, like a well or a common pasture for sheep.

Is there any kind of ambassador for the lego group that we can show this discussion to? I would want to let them know what we'd buy. :eyebrows:

There are more than one ambassador active at CC. Yes, the reports are given. But remember, the AFOL/TFOL community is not the target audience for LEGO. They do nice things for us with sets like the MMV. But our ideas may not test well with kids. We make up less than 10% of their sales, so...that has to be kept in mind.

That's too bad :( I guess kids just think villagers aren't cool because they don't fight.

I don't know about most kids but I always wanted villages when I was younger and was sad I couldn't get any I admit yes knights and soldiers are more fun but I still think kids like some villagers I'm not saying they want tones but I believe they would except them.
