Micro village/castle sets

Post by Quickblade22 »

The Star Wars line has these sets that are a planet with a minifig and a micro ship. I'm sure most of you have seen them. I'd like to see Castle get this treatment. I don't know what they could substitute the "planet" piece that would make sense, but I think it'd be a great way to introduce some peasants and nice little micro buildings that we could make a village with. It could work for castle, fantasy, or even LOTR/Hobbit. Since I don't think we'd get village sets at their normal scale, this might be the best option. Plus, we'd get a new minifig and who doesn't love that?

Yeah, they could focus on something other than knights! Villagers/peasants could have a tiny well alongside them, or maybe a small market stand.

Seeing as the planets have been dropped in favour of larger mini-ships, I wonder how successful the planets were. http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/? ... roFighters

That said, the concept of a mini-build and accompanying figure is a fun one.

I always though the Heroica board game line would have been a lot stronger if the games had come with perhaps one minifig scale version of the microfig characters. eg Barbarian, Wizard etc.

People love minifigs, as seen by the success of the CMF line, and the fact that random figs are crowbarred into sets to boost sales (eg Star Wars).

This would be a great way to see some of the LOTR/hobbit characters that people really want appear. With accompanying micro build of Minas Tirith or whatever. Great to put on your desk.
Less talking, more MOCing.
