Are you sick of catapaults?
Are you sick of catapaults?
Well, the poll says it all.

Each year I think they should limit themselves to max two siege weapons(including defensive). I want to see nice looking ballistas instead of the sea of catapults, too.

I am only sick of bad catapults or catapults in the incorrect places (like the back of horses or top of castles). The catapult is necessary for LEGO Castle and should be kept.
A catapult should: look semi historically accurate, function well, be made of a variety of pieces (not one arm/bucket piece), be manned by atleast 2 siege soldiers, and not be too small to be an efficient siege/countersiege weapon.

Catapults are really pesky. I'm fine with them when Lego includes them on a castle--but when they put them on a horse?!? That's just insane! I voted "no" because if you look past the horse-apults, catapults are a part of Lego history that make you say, "yep, that's Lego" when you look at a set in the store.

No. I am not sick of catapults. In fact, I wish that TLC would release one.
In the meantime, I AM sick of polybag seesaws, pot-holders, and various assorted things somehow moveable by one person. The only castle those will knock a hole in from a good distance are styrofoam movie sets.
Meanwhile, my beseiging army could use some catapults. You're welcome to start producing them ASAP, TLC.

This is a good point in that the reason for our dislike of these would be catapults are from their simplicity. I mean catapults on horses? Come on! I’ve made catapults that could send a horse sailing across a room.Formendacil wrote:No. I am not sick of catapults. In fact, I wish that TLC would release one.
I would really like to see a $30-$40 set that only has a well made catapult and possibly a few soldiers to work it.

As a scorpion army builder, BuilderQ, you gave me ideas...
...The fig that is, NOT the catapult...
About small catapults (especially the ones on horses)- if they had mounted
a pack of crossbows on a horse like that, it may not have been realistic, but it would look much better. A catapult is a weapon that simply looks stupid when too small, a catapult like a Trebutchet is an awesome machine. I mean seriously, Vladek Encounter has a catapult on which Danju steps on a pad to fire it, I mean, an army using those would not only be defeated easily, they would make their enemies have a good laugh before killing them.
I want to see a trebutchet or manogel (spelling?) thats real catapults.

The only catapults I would like for Lego to make were for siege, not those puny little cooking pot launched rocks.
