Thank you! I thought I was the only one who cared. I really want to see the plumes included!

I also think there should be plumes, but that is just one more extra piece (at least in Lego's view) that will not appeal any more to children. I can't picture a 9 year old gazing at one of these sets and saying "Mom! Look! That knight has really cool plumes!"
But as a TFOL, I must say that I wish there were plumes. I agree. I would really like some black ones...

Um, I did that as a kid. Why wouldn't a kid nowadays do that? Answer... they would. Kids haven't changed THAT much in the last 2 decades.

Um, I did that as a kid. Why wouldn't a kid nowadays do that? Answer... they would. Kids haven't changed THAT much in the last 2 decades.

How do you know what a random kid would think? I know I never thought of the plumes as very important. What kids will be drooling over is the dragon, flashy armour and skeletons. Little details don't really count for much.

I think they are just as likely to like the plumes on knights. When I was a kid, I loved the plumes, and I used them to seperate ranks. Of course, if there wasn't any plumes, I wouldn't know about them, and how can you miss something you don't know about? The plumes would just give it another little detail, that extra little bit of why LEGO is better than the clone brands.

I loved the plumes myself. ESpecially the rare white and black plumes. I always gave them to soldiers that were "special" or the heroes of my adventures. Especially the white skinny feather for my forestmen.

Only plumes I liked better were the side white dragon ones... those were amazing, but the top dragon plume was a bit to big and clunky for my taste. I always replaced it with a normal plume.

Now, I really like the prospect for 2007. Skeleton hordes are nice:)

I do think that the re-introduction of plumes (Although hypothetical) would be a big deal, both with AFOL:s and the younger customers, since it has been a very long time since we saw them last.

I'm nearly 21 now, and when I was kid, I thought the plumes were really awesome, because they added that extra touch of class. Kid's today are gonna wonder why there's a hole in the top and sides of the classic knight visor, so lego needs to hook them up with plumes.

Just checking Peeron, Castle hasn't had the dragon plumes since 1994, but the Time Cruisers had them in 1996 (6494) and Adventurers as late as 2003 (7419).

As for the feathered plumes, castle held them until 2000, or 2002 if you count the Black Falcon's Legend set. (10039)

A knight without a plume is just another soldier. Without a plume, the knight's helmets are like viking hats without horns: pointless and sad, with holes.

I don't know why people think "kids these days" are so dumb, like all they want are war and weapons. Kids are impressionable. When they see the plume-less helmets, they aren't going to get excited; those pieces just aren't that cool on their own. If they do see plumes in these knew sets, I know they'll instantly realized that the dudes with the plumed helmets are a cut above the regular soldiers. Those little details matter. They mattered to me as a kid, and are largely responsible for me still loving Lego today.

Take away all the little details and you have nothing left.

I don't know, I thin that although most kids would want plumes if they had the choice, many just don't know of them. You can't be sad that you don't have something you don't know about.

I like plumes. However, I am not a big fan of them on warring knights. I prefer them on the Spanish Armada, as well as knights who are in more showy, tournament affairs.

Just make sure the plumes stand out a bit, something that would make it catch the kids eye, you know? Maybe pretty down the knights a bit so the plume does add that extra need of glamour that kids look for these days.
