Wouldn't the tradesman and craftsman be the same catagory?

They are very similar but the Trades and the Crafts were different. I'm not positive, but I think there was a difference in years of training required.

Yes, indeed a very nice noble persons torso. I am sorry that I missed that one. Thanks for adding it to the list.

There are a lot of good torsos out there, as others have mentioned, for unarmoured nobility. Like practically all the 'faction' torsos. They're shields. . . that's all. In my opinion that's not necessarily indicitive of armour. Certainly a noble of the Lion kingdom might wear a tabard or tunic displaying the Lion emblem of his native land.

Combine the wealth of those torsos with all the other ones mentioned in this thread, and you have as many 'noble' torsos as peasant ones.

Although I would agree that we could always use more. I use waterslide decals, myself, so it's not so much a problem for me if LEGO never does it. I have plenty of nobles in the works and already kicking around in my office.

Well, I kinda hate to dig up this topic, but I ran across another torso which I thoguht might work well for noble-man.

Torso Alpha Team Minion Commander Red/Black Shirt w/ Medal Pattern / Black Arm Left / Red Arm Right / Red Hands

And I suppose if we mention that one, we should include the other one for a lesser noble (or perhaps a jester, a bit off-topic).

Torso Alpha Team Minion Red/Black Shirt Pattern / Black Arm Left / Red Arm Right / Red Hands

That said I surely would not mind more official noble-men!!!

edit: I forgot to mention that Tedward uses these guys for a whole faction too (see link in post directly below)!

Tedward has actually used that torso for men-at-arms, here.

Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

Sure enough! However I think they could work for nobles as easily as soldiers. :)

My faction! 8) Thanks for the plug!

I did try to use the newer minion torso - with "medal" - becasue it would make getting new troops easier but it just looks too modern and taking the medal off just has not worked well for me. I was going to turn the ones with medals/badges into players for the modern Stackton Football Club but I am not sure I like the built-in belt. (Sorry for wandering a little off topc. )

Hmm, it looks as though I forgot to mention you above, still...

That's changing now though, sorry about that. Yup I like these gys, but figured if some-one didn't want to pick up a bunch for a faction, they could use one or two of either for a noble-man.

No worries. Not like I get to do a lot of building much less post MOC's with these guys.

For sure. Parti-coloured cotehardies were quite popular in the 14thC. Of course, as someone once pointed out, they also make great jester outfits. :D

Those Alpha Team black-red shirts look more "Chinese" in design to me than anything else.

I actually use those for my Earth Coalition space fleet officers.

Quite honestly, this torso is sufficently ambigous that it can be used in countless themes. The best part is, alot of these generic torsos are dirt cheap and make for great army builds. Most medieval armies weren't particularly uniform, so a few of these guys could easily stand in with the Black Knights or any other faction.

Here's a Torso I didn't see mentioned here that I often use for a forestman noble, in fact I bought some old SW set specifically for this torso. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=973pb68

Yes, I can see how you this would work with the forestmen. I instantly thought of elves (forest elves) when I saw it - but that is a bit fanciful. :)

Me too! This would work great for a Forestman champion :)
