I agree that the designs are going downhill, but that should only make life better for us: with more specialty pieces, and a still strong supply of basic bricks (except in the stores I usually frequent), we can build whatever we want, without that sentimental attachment to the original models that made me want to keep my sets together in the past.

As to the pieces themselves, the only problems I've ever had was the clarity of the printing on faces and torsoes. Occasionally they've been a little blurry, but when you've got five or more them,that's not such a bad thing, is it?
