Hockey Players...

So, my question to you is - With some stickers or painty-kind-of-stuff, do you think the NHL Jerseys could be useful as some sort of armor?

I just want to know if you will be able to add *real* teams!

I think the black pads could definitely be stickered to look like some type of armor, the white ones might be stickered to look like a tunic over armor probably, I will definitely give it a try when those sets come out. The street hockey set looks like it might not be a bad parts pacl for a sports set. As to the real teams thing, it is a matter of licensing and it will depend on the NHL, the NHLPA and whatever body governs the license for the team logos. I can't remember that one off hand.

They look like they'd be okay, but IMO no real improvement over this piece:

I don't know. They look a bit too flat in the chest area, once you remove the nhl stickers they might look weird as armors. And like Bruce said, not much of an improvement over the Ogel armor.

They will be good for space armor, I mean, uhh. No, space isn't good. Ah, what the heck, I like space, just as much as castle. (ducks behind chair.)

What Bruce says is true... The only real difference is more of the body is covered.

The white ones will probably be more or less useless. But the black ones... Some sort of padded armor? Maybe good as a sort of leather tunic for enlisted serfs.

RB, it may not be so much as they are flat, but the fact that they look a bit too smooth...

I am very happy to see that the armor covers both sides of the body (my first impression from the first, small pics made me think the were life jacket like). I think this armor, being smooth as it is, would work superbly with the original Legoland castle helmet and visor style (ala #375 )

You've got a point. It is rather like the old-style armour.

I suppose if I could find some cheap, I would use it. I just hope the stickers aren't permanent.

Oh, and Matt, no one says you can't make the NHL team stickers yourself. ;)

Permanent stickers aren't ever a problem with LEGO. A little Brasso will take those things right off.

Ah, yes, but I'm lazy. :P

Are you going to try to make stickers or a template for these jersey things? I suppose there are limited design possibilities, though. You can't exactly make that into chain mail!

I'll hold my judgement on whether or not those are going to be good for castle until I see them. But looking at the picture, they scream "Space Marine" to me. I'll be picking some up.
