Building the house of Bricks

Post by Robin Hood »

Here is something that occured to me just now. Why has TLC never made a computer game where you build? I know some programs let you put walls togetehr and such, but I mean build. Like makeing anything you want out of anykind of bricks.
I build, therefore I am.

Maybe people would buy fewer LEGO sets if they could just use any part they wanted on their computer?

If TLC believes that, then they certainly wouldn't want to spend money to develop software that hurts their sales of bricks.

Besides that, LDRAW exists and is free, so people probably wouldn't want to pay money to use something similar developed by TLC.

I would love to see something from the LEGO Group that allows us to design our own sets and print instructions. Maybe then you could send a parts list to Shop@Home and you could purchase the specific parts you need to build the set.
Whatever the case, I'm sure it would be more user friendly than any other program out there... I can't figure out LDraw for the life of me.

Same here - it also crashes my PC. However, from what I've heard, its about the best of it's kind, and some pretty cool things have been created with it - there are quite a few good Computer MOCs out there - such as Ben's City gate and that enormous gatehouse.
