I guess the mermaid will be used for the Pirates... We've got Willie for Indiana Jones and the Orc Shaman for Castle... but something about that Queen just doesn't scream "Castle" at me... maybe we're getting a new fantasy/fairy tale/girl theme and the mermaid is actually part of that?

Nope, I've seen the Pirate sets, and the mermaid is from them.

I'm wondering if she is from the Elf line. Since she doesn't have the crown insignia.

Though I like the idea of a fairytale/girly theme.

Here's a potential fifth that looks to be from the pirate line:

That would be the Governer's Daughter. I'm assuming pirates, since she was in between the Pirate Wench and the Mermaid.

I can only remember fourteen of the female figs in the lineup (sorry  ) but they weren't all brand new. The lineup started with Agent Trace.

Here is the list of ones I remember (in no particular order):

Agent Trace (Agents)
Claw-Dette (Agents)
Irina Spalko (Indiana Jones)
Marian Ravenwood (Indiana Jones)
Peasant Girl 1 (Castle)
Peasant Girl 2 (Castle)
Bar Maiden (Castle)
Pirate Wench (Pirates)
Governor's Daughter (Pirates)
Queen (Castle)
Orc Hag (Castle)
Willie Scott (Indiana Jones)
Mystery Girl (Mystery Theme)
Mermaid (Pirates)

Hope this helps,
Josh

Thanks for the list, now we have an idea of what to expect. I think it is pretty cool that we are getting 5 female figs for castle and potentially more if the torsos apply.

My pleasure.

I am not sure, but its possible that Peasant Girl 2 and the Bar Maiden might be the same fig. I can't remember if that was two different names for the same fig or if they were seperate figs. Also the missing fig might be the Witch, but again, I'm not sure.

There were a couple Star Wars figs in the beginning, too. I did see one of them.

Very cool that LEGO is increasing the number of interesting female figs. One question, is "Mystery theme" something they simply wouldn't say anything about, or is it actually a theme about mysteries (hmm, maybe something Sherlock Holmes-y, or maybe more like Scooby Doo?)? What did the girl look like?

These are all just delightful.

I've been wondering why the Indy line was completely neglecting Temple of Doom so far. It may be the weakest of the original trilogy, but it's not without its charm and certainly had a lot of terrific locales and exciting scenes. I think there's a lot of Lego potential in the mine cart chase in particular.

The Governor's daughter has a beautiful design, even if she's an obvious riff on Elizabeth Swann. The mermaid is something that's long been missing from the Lego oeuvre--we had the ugly merman in the Harry Potter line, but he's not very adaptable to more traditional fantasy settings.
