Dragon Masters - The new gateway drug.

Symptoms - Leads to a decline in set design and funny looking mascots on torsos.

Gateway to - worse and/or more goofy themes like Fright Knights and Knight's Kingdom Simplex I and II

To get clean - Spend several days in a LEGOLand rehab building classic late 80's sets.

In my opinion, they are quite handsome. True, their colours are somewhat strong, but boldness a strong part of their identity.
If that's what appeals to you that's perfectly okay, though I think every art teacher I had would side with "horribly mismatched" over "bold". 8)

I like the DM. I fact I love them. I can't say about their set design, I only have the small ones, but I think they look cool. Just my opion though. I heard a couple of you mention that they had triangular shields. Do they? If so I never knew about that. I have an entire history for them but don't ask about that. In fact I think of DM as the ultimate bad guy.
I build, therefore I am.

The DM's did not have triangular shields, the Black Knights did. It would have been nice to have triangular DM shields, but that wasn't possible until Mr. Sava made the sticker world stand on its ear. :D

Many people do associate the DMs with the Black knights as the oval shield is the same heraldic pattern in different colors. I have aways thought that the Black Knight Oval shield looks better with the official DMs than their green and yellow shield did anyway.

True, the colours match better. I like the DM shields anyway. I just don't really have a use for them (or almost any LEGO designs) in my constructions.

I like the DM fine... Just switch out the blue legs and arms for black ones, and they look OK. Most of the sets are bad design, though a few are alright.

I really didn't like the blue arms and black arms pieces. It makes them look like.... armored warrior-jesters! "My jokes aren't funny? DIE!"

The Dragon Masters were before my time; so I just have a few assorted torsos and shields I aquired trough trading. Overall, and compared to what we have now, these sets are great.
