And what the hey, I'll see if I can't add an actual prize. How does a special forum title of 'Master Guesser' for a month sound? ;)

Are you sure those bricks aren't all the new bluish gray. I saw some of Brickboy's and they are downright unmixable.
They are 100% classic light grey. Believe me, I'd never buy THAT many Blue-Grey Bricks ;)

If it doesn't fit FORCE IT! If it breaks then it needed to be replaced anyways.

Edit- I really need to use those hints such as "2 bricks away from correct". Big duh.

When are you gonna announce the answer?

At first, I thought the prize would be the jar itself (including the contents, of course)... :D

Congratulations Bryan! You win!

The actual number of Classic Light Grey bricks in the container was 748!

You get to:

1. Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of the women!

You win:

2. The personal pride and satisfaction of being a superior guesser to everyone else!

You win:

3. The envy and loathing of everyone else!

You get to:

4. Touch Freak's monkey!

And:

You get a special forum title of 'Master Mason' for one month, if you so choose to accept it.

And what the heck, if you REALLY want the container (minus the contents, of course) I'll be happy to mail it to you, shipping and handling extra ;)

Congrats!

Woohoo! Just a few days prior to your "contest" I put 80 1x2 light grey bricks into a small container. They took up very *little* space. So you'd be surprised how many you can fit in a larger container!

I will crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentation of the women. I know that I am a superior guesser to everybody else. As a result, everybody must envy and loathe me now!

I will pass on the chance of touching Freak's monkey  and your offer of the container, but I will gladly accept the special forum title!

Thanks to Anthony for injecting some more fun into an already wonderful group of people here at Classic Castle.

Congratulations, Gumby! I don't loathe or envy you, though.

I would never have guessed that few. That's amazing you can only fit that many in that size container. I guessed a lot more.

P.S. Will there be more contests like this?

You mean meaningless contests of guessing how many widgets are in a container? Sure! They're easy to set up, certainly. And a prize of a unique forum title are a great form of instant gratification.

I was thinking maybe having something like this to de-throne the current 'Master Mason' ;) Unless of course the previous Master Mason is true to his title and wins again.

Great!

When will the next one start?

Maybe you could do variations of it like "How many pieces are in this MOC?" or something.

Argh!

To quote myself: "Shoot, I was going to guess 750. I'll go with 725 instead."
