Here is my take - as far as looks go, they are not that great. I mean, I would never use them if I were building a wall or the front of a building (the latter has a few exeptions) However, they are indispensible when it comes to things like interior supports, shiny flat walls or gap fillers. Like nearly every other brick, it has its uses, and it has its drawbacks. Some people abhore castle wall pieces or BURPS, but I have seen dozens of MOCs where they are used very artistically and well. I like these peices, and when placed in good spots, they can do alot.
