Has anyone bought...

Post by Troy T. Moore »

...4496, the bulk creator tub offered this year? They were on sale at S@H last week, and I was tempted, but wanted to know if it was decent. Yes I have looked at Peeron, but experience has taught me that asking a erson who has handled the product is better

I realize there are not a lot of castle pieces per se, but I am in need of some bricks to build underneath my current MOC. I don't like the fact that they have plates in the bucket, but that's just me.

I have...definitely a set? to buy for bulk brick

Better than the 4107 (not much, but less 1x1's and 1x2's)
but not quite up to the 3033.

Has the new Light Grey (bley?) but only a small quantity.
Also has Orange, Light Blue, and Lime Green.

Tubs are quite large and accommodating, however, the new
style obviously doesn't work with the old tubs...

I actually quite like the amount of 1x1s and 1x2s in 4107, especially with the ginormous quantity of them in light grey, dark grey, brown, tan and green. It's the closest thing I've ever seen to a castle tub, especially if you're prone to building battlements with 1x2s, or CCC style buldings.

Plus it's old grey! Can't beat that.

I got 2 when they were at sale at TRU. I really liked it. It also has some nice transparent bricks for stained glass windows. Great set!

My brother has it.

Its got a nice number of parts, but I think that it has TOO many colours.

Its got about twice as many 3033, and that means that each colour gets cut down.

It just doesn't seem as worthwhile.

To me, anyway.

Ahem! As the brother, I can fill you in a bit more. Formen was right in most of what he said, it has a lot of colours, so unless you are making something colourful its not that usefull. The only gray there is new gray so that is another down point. Formedy meant to say that it has only two thirds the amount that 3033 has. And thats it. If you want to build castle building don't buy it, but if you have something more colourful in mind, buy it.
I build, therefore I am.
