Coolness! Scrap my previous skepticism. I heard earlier from Kristin Greene, a LEGO PR rep, that they are indeed doing both licenses. Also, thanks for the link to the pics, Azaghal!

I want a Ultimate Collector Series 1966 Batmobile. If I don't get it, I'm going to throw a fit.

I Grew up with Bionicle since 2000 with my older brother, and keep in mind that Bionicle ended in 2010. Like, it's over. Gone. There's nothing we can change about that. I still sense a bitter taste in everyone's mouth that Bionicle ended. While I'm sad that it ended, I'm also glad that it did. It was getting way too hard to keep track of the storyline, and the figures were so lacking in creativity. Re-using the parts, over and over and over. Heck, Greg Farshtey is sad it's over and at one point said he hoped it would turn out like Star Trek. The fans of it would always be there, so maybe Bionicle will return for a younger generation maybe 20, 30 years from now (Something like that, I've never watched ST). Yes, Bionicle was a great line, I know, my brothers and I have collected 75+ sets over those years, plus the comics (which we're only missing 3 or 4 of them), but we've had Ben 10 and Hero Factory since then, and it's time to move on. :)

So, is it an insult to HF? Only time will tell. I don't own any HF, but some of them do look rather cool. I've heard pretty good things about them too. We finally have yellow parts, and all new pieces for the Bionicle community to continue on with. I'm not going to buy any of those, just like I did with Ben 10, but you have to keep in mind that they're not making those specifically for TFOLs or AFOLs. These are definitely aimed at a younger "action-figure"-esc demographic. I remember playing with my older brother with action figures (specifically Batman and Robin [Yes, that terrible movie Batman and Robin] figures) and each Batman you bought would have some weird crazy thing with him. Like a giant wing-suit, for example. I can definitely see where they're coming from, but just like you, I personally, I don't like them either. The only one that looks promising is the Iron Man one. Are they horrible? I feel like that's to harsh. Just for a different audience.

But, I just keep on going, and remember that they're not for you or me. And that's ok. But, hey, I'll admit it! I still have Galidor in my closet somewhere! There! I played with Galidor! I said it! It just goes to show that Lego isn't trying to slap us in the face, because younger people do play with those (Galidor will live on in our hearts! ). But while I and my friends enjoyed Galidor, it doesn't mean the line went over well, so we'll just have to check the clearance section in Wal-Mart to see if they do any good. I'm sure that some people were interested in Ben 10, but that line did (from what I can tell) pretty badly, because I saw some sets at a Target Clearance for $2 each. The real question is: Will young people buy this? Will it be bought enough, to sustain how many they produce? Did Ben 10 actually do fairly well?

If the Lego Group is alive and well, I'm happy. I think most fans feel that way, unless of course they start to make Galidor again. There's my two sense about those action figs.
~FB~

P.S. Anyone who's going to Brickworld 2012,be on your toes! My brother's bringing a ton of Galidor for Dirty Brickster.

Great coverage on comic-con. I couldn't find a photo of the booth from a distance, anywhere. One thing's for sure. A lot of people will be happy with official Wolverine Claws. People have been using BrickArms ammo clips for far too long. ;-D

:o Wait, and he's an AFOL?!?!! I've never heard of such a thing...And he collects the parts? :twitch: That is so strange. Maybe he'll want to take that prize from the poor sap who'll receive 'em. The only problem with Galidor is that the parts are virtually un-usable for any other theme...I guess there's some NPU out there...always is.

ok, let me explain why I called them horrible. the main thing is that they tried to make human figures out of parts made for robots,I'll admit that iron man looks ok because he's suppose to be a robot, but the rest just look goofy.

Maybe the giant KK2 figs would be a better point of comparison for these Hero Factory/DC/Marvel hybrids. Of course they've also done large Star Wars figs out of technic bits before.

I wouldn't really worry about these buildable figs. We're not the target audience. My neighbor kids, will be six when these come out, are complete Spider-Man and Batman nuts, and so I'm sure they'll be all over these (my kids will still be a little young for these sets).

Galidor stank, no question about it, but there are uses for some of the parts. And I will admit that I bought Euripedes (however you spell that, I'm too lazy to go look it up). He looked like a giant troll-thing to me. And I had him in the BrickCon Castle layout a couple of years ago. Actually he was technically in it twice....pic 1 and pic2 (you can see him in the background there). ;)

Ahhhhh, I see where you're coming from now. Yeah, considering Bionicle was bio-mechanical, and hero factory are actual robots, this seems to make sense. Ben 10 though looked fairly good, but they were Aliens. These are probably (hopefully) preliminary too so we might see some small or drastic changes.

Oh yeah! The green guy. My brother's friend used to have him. We had the McDonald's version where he had that little midget body with a enormous head. Haha, those were the days.

Anyway! SuperHeroes theme! Back on track! I'm going to try to get as many Batman sets as I can. I missed out on the initial release, and I'm not going to miss it this time!
An idea for a set I had was a Green Lantern Core battle pack...? Anyone? I thought that would make for some interesting alien heads or cool for recreating certain comic book moments or something...Of course if there are only four different species in a box, it would repeat itself too much, but then we could use all our SPIII figs. Anyway, I'd be interested in getting a large amount of Green Lantern guys. Maybe an impulse set? It would give me a use for all this trans-green lying around.

EDIT: A great Eurobricks thread has up close shots of all the minifigs + some extra. Check it out here.

I wonder, will Superman have an 'S' cape? I looked, but could not find a picture of his back...

I'm not a "fan" of Superman per se, but I have not seen a 'S' on the cape so far. The minifigs look pretty accurate so far so I would assume he would. You could always try contacting someone who went to see if they know.

On the subject of the cape, to me though, it looks like a brand new cape piece! I'm looking at it here on the official website, and do you see how the cape fits tighter around the minifig's shoulders (compare it to a star wars minifig where the cape fits out a stud's worth on each side)? This may have been pointed out by someone else already, but I just noticed that it's a different version. Have we seen this shape before?

I'm actually hoping that it doesn't have the 'S' though! That way I can have my Lion Knight general sporting it possibly...of course I could just turn it around so the 'S' doesn't show. Either way. Cool cape!

Hey, if they've got the Marvel license, maybe we'll see a line based off their Americain Civil War comics or the G.I Joe ones. I want an official Cobra Trooper and a Stars and Bars flag :tasty: (Yeah, I know that's not going to happen for various reasons, but can't I dream)

I'm not particularly looking forward to the Super Heros stuff, as I've never been a fan of masked heros running around wearing their undies over their pajamas, but since Captain America's shield technically follows the rules of heraldry, and some of us either missed out on BF's special run or are puritans (former for me) I sense a new unofficial faction of red, white, and blue, star knights!
