BrickFest 2004 Xinjiang Border Battle preview

Post by JPinoy »

Just a little preview of what I'll be bringing to BrickFest 2004. The Xinjiang Border Battle scene from my Conflict Zone - Global Crisis story set in June 7, 2015 in the western steppe province of China called the Xinjiang Autonomous Region. A small patrol group of PLA soldiers and China's newest class of tank is ambushed by the a much larger force of G.I.L.F. (Global Islamic Liberation Front) militants.

The real scene will involve much more stuff. I'll post pics of the complete scene after BrickFest when I get home.

That looks good. Of course, not being a military buff, I don't see anything particularly Chinese about it, but it still looks good. I like seeing all those tiles in action.

Let me guess, they were procurred from http://www.bricklink.com?

Edit:

I like the players too. Particularly the non-Chinese ones (you know the ones, the ones represented by some initials.)

Man, that tank doesn't stand a chance against that awsome jeep! Good work, JP!

Of course. Bought 400 green 2x2 tiles there. :D ;)

The tank was based on this tank pic I found on a Chinese military forum. And according to Janes.com, China IS working on a new "super-tank" armed with a 152mm cannon, compared to the US's Abrams which only has a 120mm cannon and the UK's Challenger II, as well as Russia's T-95 both of which have a 125mm gun.

Okay, just updated the main thread's post with pics I just took this morning.

I've also added a "logo picture" for the BrickFest2004 Xinjiang Border Battle scene in BrickShelf.
