That was from the 6077 Knight's Procession was it not?
And perhaps it is just me, but the torso might be better if it was less armored or of a neutral design.
I like this one better for neutrality sake,

The problem with this guy (though it is one of my favorite torsos) is the price tag (and limited quantity available). Not everyone would be willing to pay the money to get one of those and if we are to do this, it should be a thing that everyone can do.

True enough. I do often forget that not everybody was around to get one of those when they were new.
Just being "Classic-Castle" however, it seems a bit off to have a "Kingdoms" themed torso because it is so new and current...

Blue has a point there. Maybe the "Crusader" axe torso? Although common, its doesn't have the lion or falcon heraldry so it could be easily inserted to just about any situation. Just a thought.
I think this is a good idea.

Yes!

And maybe do it "American Idol" Style with several rounds of voting and snarky commentary in between. OK, maybe without the snarky commentary.

Oh, and maybe if we get going fast we could have the three finalists @ BrickCon and include the winner in the CC sig-fig photoshoot!

Honestly, I really like this idea of being half-and-half, since it makes him so distinctive. Not that it has to be half-and-half, but I support the idea of making him something that's VERY intentional. If it's too generic of a minifig, it may just "happen" to wind up in a picture unintentionally. And further, if someone is attempting to add the mascot to their MOC, but doesn't have all the pieces exactly, doing something like this REALLY makes it obvious that it's there for a reason. IE, you wouldn't be second guessing yourself saying "Did the builder intend this to be the C-C mascot and just not have the right pieces? Or is it just a close coincidence?"

And the "classic elements" are the old-fashioned face, sword and that helmet.

This guy will likely get my vote.

I also like this guy.

I still would prefer a dark pearl grey helmet as I think the silver one is a bit overused, but I do like the two-toned nature of this figure. The belt pattern on the hips is also a bit busy, but that could easily be replaced with a plain black one for a more generic look. The biggest selling point for me is still that the torso is faction-neutral. It may not be classic, but it doesn't align with any faction. With the right accessories, this guy could literally be anybody which is ideal for a mascot.

I think a proper mascot should reflect this site. It's classic, and yet we embrace the new as well. I very much support a figure that is either a new torso with classic accessories, or a classic torso with new accessories. Forestboy's suggestion is nearly spot on. I think with just a little tweaking, it could be perfect. I'll agree with Blueandwhite that the helmet should be changed--but I'd go with a more classic solid colour-probably solid black, though dark grey would work also. The same for the sword. Of course, there should be no argument about the head--classic smiley undoubtedly.

A new mascot that is easy to buidl sonds like the best thing since the CCC.

I am unsure about having an old or new one. A new on would be easier for people to build, but this site is called Classic-Castle, after all. I do like the idea of using the crossed axe torso (Partly because I own one). Maybe have a guy with that torso with a pearl helmet?

Forget ye not that the Brothers Joosten are three... nor that Henry was actually travelling such a long time ago that I still lived at home when he came through.

Mind you, the very little Elephant Knight was even smaller back then... :P

*cough* Ahem, yes--back on topic.

The white/blue down-the-middle split guy is growing on me too, because of the distinctiveness factor.

In my opinion, while yeah, I said the shield would be tricky, and not everyone would have it, but I don't think heraldry should be that big of in issue. Does he even need heraldry? I am open to the Tower Bridge one. It's actually not that expensive, but it would be a slight hassle. What better shield to pick then the one on classic-castle? You can get a decent one on BL around $2-4 US, although the Tower Bridge one is more around $1.50. He can have it, but I don't think it's that mandatory...Anyway...

I'll chime in and say that having a contest and having the forums publicly vote would certainly be the best idea, and having it ready for Brickcon for unveiling would be a great introduction for him! Brickcon, after all, is a month and a half away so there's plenty of time. (It would have to come down to the Admin's personal taste, of course)

Hmm, while I like how he's certainly classic, he's a black falcon...That might pose some political problems between the minifig castle lands...

Well, on one side, I do get the sense, that it should be "classic" looking, but he also should be modern as well. We can't stay in the past for forever, or we'll miss the future! I think a nice mix would be the best thing. I might like the axe crusader torso, but we're calling it a crusader torso, so that kind of defeats the purpose of having a generic one, doesn't it? Anyway, a lot of people seem to like the idea of a dark pearl grey color, so that would be some modern-ness with maybe a classic torso. Which leads me into, "Harvey 2.0!"

Image-Image
(V2 of the left and the 1st on the right)

Here's a new version of "Harvey" ( ) in a more "classic" looking sense (since that's what other people liked better it seems). He takes blue from Henry and the black and Red from Harold. I added a "classic" torso this time while staying within TLG's five basic colors. The belt was eliminated. The torso design is the same one as Henry, which I'm not all that a fan of. Helmet and weapon are still not pearl grey.

Also, I think the color of the helmet and sword match the torso I'm using, so I'd like the lighter colored cone helmet since they were so common in Castle (2007), which has been around for 4 years, while Kingdoms is only on it's 2nd. I would assume most builders would own one of the helmets in this color at least (I still think you can get it from Kingdoms though too, and Dark Pearl Grey is definitely an option). (It should also be mentioned that I'm not sure which body that V2 has, so it might already belong to another faction, but he doesn't have an "insignia.")

ImageImageImage

This will certainly be interesting. I also agree though that he should also be:
1. Representing both Classic-Castle, Classic Castle sets, and the entire Castle theme, without looking too-much like any one of the three.
2. Must be easy to recognize while still looking not generic, but new and different in it's own right.

There's my two cents! I'm really interested into what other people think though...

I like the idea of a new mascot 'fig, especially one that is made from more common parts.

I'd suggest if we go with a multi color arms what we have the leg and arm colors opposed, so red arm/blue leg on one side, and blue arm/red leg on the other....
I do find the torso with the belt across it... lacking...

I'd suggest perhaps the torso from the Chess King but suspect it's a bit limited availability wise to a serious contender.
I'll ruminate on my thoughts and post further ones later.
