Lego Star Wars - 10 More Years

Postby Handar » Mon Feb 13, 2012 8:56 pm

For those of you who may not have seen this, it looks like Lucasfilm and Lego have renewed their partnership for another ten years (see here).

The linked article claims "total sales in excess of 200 million across a three-hundred-strong set of kits." I'm curious if that's 200 million sets, or 200 million dollars of sales; I'm also curious about the time frame described. Is that last year? The entire Star Wars Lego ever produced?

In any case, it looks like it has been very profitable for all concerned, and I'm curious to see where the next ten years will take us.

I saw this on FBTB yesterday, and I have to say I'm looking forward to it. I'm a big SW fan, although I don't buy LSW at all, unless the pieces are fitting for Castle or are too good to pass up. With 10 more years in sight, I'm sure there will be quite a few sets that force me to buy them. :)

Also, when the article claims "total sales in excess of 200 million across a three-hundred-strong set of kits." I think they are referencing number of sets sold over the amount of different set designs over the course of the years since 1999.
