Blue light and it's effects on Lego bricks

I shined a blue flashlight on my Lego castle and started to notice some very strange phenomenon! Some green pieces seemed to glow far brighter than the rest of the green in the landscape for some reason! Then I noticed the trans colored pieces glowed brilliantly! And just recently I discovered that several of my reddish brown pieces turn red under the blue light! I posted several photos on Flickr for those interested in this little investigation of mine!

Also worth noting but unphotographed, I got a yellow flower piece to turn pink while all the others turned yellow green.
So, fine people of classic castle, have you ever noticed any strange color changes in your Legos when subjected to different colors of artificial light? And what do all of you think about this strange phenomenon?
