Looking for a torso - button up shirt with tie

Post by AK_Brickster »

Hey guys,

I'm trying to "Lego-fy" my father-in-law, and I'm having trouble finding the correct torso. He wears a button-up shirt with tie to work every day, but I can't find a good equivalent in Lego form. I don't want one with a jacket or a airport/badge/anchor logo on it. Any ideas/suggestions? I'm open to custom ones as well.

Thanks!

Here's a few I found on Bricklink:

Okay, so those were just a few I thought looked nice. I went to Bricklink and typed in "Torso with tie" and a good deal of things came up. Feel free to do the same if you want more choices.

Best of luck! :D

Thanks Justin. I actually am looking for a neck tie, not a bow tie (I suppose I should have been more specific) and also want just the shirt and tie (no jacket, vest or sweater).

I've tried searches similar to what you suggested on BL, but still haven't found what I'm looking for, which is why I'm turning to you guys for help!

The upper right one in the 'Zombie Attack Survivors' looks like it could work, you can ask him to change the skin color to any you want but you have to buy them all so I don't know if you wanna do that. :?

Hey AKB,

I've just scanned through all of the pages of Town, HP, Super Heroes, and Collectibles. As far as I can see, you're out of luck. I only find the three shirts you implied with a shirt and necktie (the police torso, the cargo torso, and the boat captain). Perhaps you should convince your father in law to start wearing a sweater, vest, or jacket? Then you would have tons of options. :) I think it's time to turn to customizing. I think it would be pretty easy to remove the anchor from the boat captain's pocket.

Or there's always this:

Hahaha! Bruce, I saw that torso during my search and thought, "DANGIT!! That one would be PERFECT!!"

Yeah I'm thinking that just rubbing off one of the anchors/badges is going to be the best bet. What should I use to do that?

Brasso!! It's a customizer's best friend. Use a Q-tip and the smallest amount possible. Good luck.
