lego digital designer

Hi folks,

I am wondering if anyone can assist with a problem I am encountering. I found a "Lego digital Designer" free on the internet, it had all the Lego emblems and such, I assume it is a Lego sanctioned program. I went ahead and downloaded and set it up. But it freezes whenever I open it.

Not being incredibly computer literate, I assume it has something to do with setup or maybe my computer cannot handle it? I have a Windows laptop. Should I just uninstall and try again? Or was I duped into a fake program?

Any help would be appreciated.

Kristine

LDD is a great program, but if you have an older or "budget" laptop (like I do), the graphics card might be unable to handle it. I can only run it on my work laptop, which is considerably faster than my personal one.

I have this problem quite often, too. I use a fairly new Windows computer and it freeze's all the time.
It's just a slow software in my opinion... :?

Are there other programs like it, but better, that you can buy?

Not that I've heard of. There's a pretty good chance there's something like LDD out there. Maybe try a Google search, there's a good possibility a few different software's would pop up. :)

Hey Kristine,

Before LEGO came out with LDD, AFOLs were there first, creating LDraw. Go to LDraw.org for everything you need - free downloads, tutorials, FAQs, a forum where people can help you out, etc. I've only played around with this a little bit, but there are people there with a lot of expertise.
