Hey all,

As more and more sets from 2014 are showing up through legitimate sources, I'm looking through them and seeing some interesting new parts. Here's what I've seen that has me interested (aside from old parts in new colors, which are always interesting as well).

This 1x1 round plate modified with a little spiral dome shows up as an accent in various Friends sets:

I could imagine that being a great accent piece in any palace MOC.

New plants are always useful in landscaping:


Food is great, and here's a new printed tile with a strawberry:


Ciderella's carriage (beautiful set) has these interesting golden wheels:

Of course those could be used in a royal carriage, but also maybe in some sort of wizard's spell? I'm sure the steampunk builders will have interesting uses for that.

Ball and chain shows up in several of the new police sets. This seems a useful bit for dungeons.


Finally, for now, I just think the tiger cub is cute, and want a couple. Not sure what I'll do with them yet - maybe as royal pets?


Anyway, what have you seen that is of interest?

The new "Brave" set has some interesting-looking parts, chiefly the gold bow, target tile, cookie tile and maybe even the new squirrels

Oh Ak I can so tell you have never watched the film, lol.... The squirrels I think you mentioned are actually supposed to be her kid brothers, and there little Bears. Look like some interesting pieces for sure.

In one of the police sets I saw this grappling hook, which looks like the old one, but with a short section of bar added at the bottom at right-angle to the longer bar. I think this is a new part.

The Disney Princess line is scarily enticing... I was hoping the rapunzel set would comewith a new super long hairpiece, but no such luck from what I can see. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=41054-1 skip the stickers, and you've got a pretty nice castle set though.

Yeah, but those squirrels have pretty blue eyes with eyelashes, lol. Even though the 'squirrels' (bears) in the Brave set are still pretty cartoonish, I think they're at least usable. Maybe I can figure out a way to put a ringed tail on them and they can be raccoons.

Those are definitely new oars. Guessing the new design was necessitated by the fact that Friends-style figs don't have articulating wrists. He'd look pretty funny holding standard oars sticking straight out in front of him

Is the sea grass in the Ariel set a new color? I can't tell if it's a light green, or if the colors in the photo are just a bit weird.

I think those are standard oars with this part. Also, I think that's normal green, but I'd be very happy to be wrong about that.

Good spot, Bruce. I didn't even know that those came in that color.

That's because they haven't yet. Hence a new color for that piece. I really like the new plant piece, it looks pretty useful. And the other things could definitely come in handy down the road for any odd builds one might make.

Wow, great finds guys! I think that new plant piece will be very helpful in the future, it looks interesting!

Actually, it is already available in Ewok Village and Shellraiser Chase sets.

I could see some tiger cubs in some Lion faction's palace/keep. The gold bows would definitely be of use if they ever introduce Elves as a faction or for other hero's weapons.

Okay, gotcha. It would've been cool as a new piece if it was connected to the oar. I guess I haven't paid much attention to the TMNT sets...
