Chima Legend Beasts

Post by Quickblade22 »

I saw over at Brickset a review of the 5 Chima Legend Beasts. They are basically animals for the animalistic minifigs to ride on. I'm not usually a fan of brick built beasts, but some parts on these look really cool especially the printed tiles and the articulation. The thing that attracted me the most and motivated me to post this is the possibility of combining the Eagle and the Lion sets to make a pretty decent looking Griffon. Have a look. Those sets are going to be a boon for anyone who wants to collect some of the new miniature ball and socket parts. I'm guessing the sets are not too spendy, so picking up the parts you want off of BrickLink should be relatively affordable, I hope.

When I first saw these I felt sick, but after getting used to them I think they're designed quite well, and I'll try to get all of them!

They are very well designed, I'll definitely be buying all of these and keeping them built.

The crocodile, lion, and wolf all look like pretty good parts packs to me. The teeth pieces in the crocodile set look great for snow effects :)

I agree. The teeth parts are going to work nicely for icicles or something, I'm sure. There are a couple of them in the lion set as well.

The magic sword that the wolf has could be an interesting ice piece as well.

Strangely, when I first saw the box art on brickipedia, I thought, "ugh, that looks pretty poorly designed. But now that I see the actual thing not box art, it looks way cooler. So the box art actually discouraged my potentially putting that on my want list at first.

I saw the UK price listed at 7.99 which I think is about $9.99 US. That's not really that bad considering you get a minifig as well. One other thing I noticed is that the teeth on the Crocodile look to be Glow in the Dark rather than white. I looked at the review and found nothing to confirm not deny it. Have a look and tell me what you think.

Hmmmm... that looks like regular white to me, but you may be right. That would be cool. We've been mistaken in the past looking at colors via box art.

I gotta say, they all look pretty sweet to me. Great packs to scrap for the new pieces and colors. I might pick some up.

About the color, it might have to do with the lighting. There haven't been many (if any?) Glow in the Dark pieces in this theme yet, right?
