Okay as those of us who have seen the LEGO Movie start venturing here...Yes I had advance screening privileges but I won't be the only one...not by far.

Can we please remember NO SPOILERS! Be nice to those who haven't seen it and want to.
Thank you!

I can say one thing "that was so funny!" and I truly enjoyed it. AFOLs, TFOLs, non-fols, and kids will enjoy this one. So would I recommend it? You betcha! And see it with a LEGO buddy if you can...I did. It was great fun.

I saw it as well, and I would very much recommend this to anyone! The previews were great, but the movie was better!

Initially I wasn't going to go, but after seeing the such positive feedback from the community I might just go. I am glad you two had a splendid time! :)

Hey Blue.

Glad you enjoyed it! After viewing the film, are you inspired to purchase any of the official LEGO movie sets?

The answer to that is unfortunately no. I was going to buy the huge Classic Space ship even before that...my sister is a huge Classic Space fan. And it is a perfect gift for her. But in all honesty, the only things I want from those movie sets is a couple of figs. Which I will be bricklinking. My LEGO budget right now is going to Princess, and Friends and I need to get the new modular building. I'm not all "WOW" over the movie sets. I know they fit the movie...exactly and are well done. Really well done. But...they just don't interest me.

It's just...I'm a girly girl who is getting her squeals of delight with the Friends and Princesses right now...so forgive a girly girl who has never had the opportunity to get really really well designed girly girl sets chuck full of great parts before. My focus is 100% pulled in that direction. It's kind of like seeing a really great piece of chocolate sitting next to a a chocolate covered mega stuffed Oreo...you can only have one (due to your limited budget). You are a huge chocolate covered mega stuffed Oreoes...but you love chocolate too. Which one are you going to focus on? See my problem?

Please don't let that turn anyone off of the sets. I have nothing bad to say about the sets.

Now back to the topic at hand...the movie was really good fun. I enjoyed it a lot. There is humor for both boys and girls...of all ages. There is the song...that you wont' be able to get out of your head. There is a good lesson to be taught to the kids. And there is a TON of AFOL humor and references. I mean...they call Cheese Wedges...cheese wedges in the movie...how cool is that?

I want to see this movie so badly! I can't say I've felt this way about a movie since I was a kid. Hollywood can ruin GI Joe and Transformers, but they can't keep LEGO down. If I have to, I'll go see it by myself.

I took my son (5) to see it yesterday. I was quite impressed - the initial trailers made me hesitant, because I assumed the best parts of the movie would be shown there. But, it was great all around. There's a lot of good LEGO related humor, and some really cool visuals with lots of varied landscapes, creatures, and vehicles. My biggest disappointment was that there weren't more scenes with castle sets or figures, although Gandalf does have a cameo, and there's a humorous scene near the end with a herald.

I think the movie is basically age appropriate for most, but there were a couple of scenes where my son was concerned about the safety of characters (and mildly frightened when a ghost figure appears). But he doesn't see much media like this.

I saw it with my kids late friday night, and it was storming here. because it was late and rainy there were only about 20 other people besides us.. and let me just say
It.
Was.
AWESOME!
EVERYTHING WAS AWESOME :D:D

seriously, I had some trepidation. most movies I see for kids are just kinda 'meh' but this one.. well it wasn't just aimed at kids. there was a lot of subtle humor as well as the slapstick silly.
and I kept getting distracted by the scenery - I fully intend to buy the movie, and then watch certain scenes frame by frame or pause just so I can see some more of the details.

all in all it was a great experience and just a fantastic movie all the way around. :D :D :D :D

I have seen it twice now. I had to pre-buy my tickets to get into the theater here yesterday. It is so worth going to...no matter what your age group and status as a fan or not fan. The parents in the theater were laughing harder than the kids. Last time I saw it with AFOLs and had a brilliant time. This time with my nephew...just as brilliant of a time. We were singing and dancing and snuck in a bag full of goodies. The only disappointing part of our day was that TRU was sold out of the minifigs. But...he loved the movie. I loved the movie.

And!

EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

I had to buy the soundtrack so we can listen to it over and over and over. Plus it pulls you out of a bad mood...not kidding.

I have seen it three times now. If someone asked me "Would see it a fourth time?" I would say yes in a heartbeat.

I saw it and loved it, but the best part is that my non-AFOL wife (she appreciates my hobby, but has no desire to share it) also loved it, laughed as loud as I did, and told me we need to buy it as soon as it's out.
