How does everyone keep their Legos clean? By clean I mean free of dust. I leave my newer sets built on my shelves and that may be the reason. To clean mine I have to take the set apart and then rub the studs face down in fluffy carpet... It works very well, but it is time consuming.

I have pieces that are almost as old as me and maybe some older, Ive inherited some older legos on more than one occasion. I have a specific tooth brush I keep for cleaning my Lego. I just run them under water and brush with my lego toothbrush. Most of the time I dont have to even take the set apart. Becareful with stickers (though)!

I do both, I either run it under water and scrub it, or I rub it into the carpet.

Canned or compressed air, small vaccume, water, etc.
Really how much time do you want to spend.

So I have discovered something that works REALLY good for dusting the brick. I have a MOC that I have had sitting around for over 18 months, probably more like 20 that is covered in dust. I happened to have one of these gloves laying around, so I figured..hey why not try? And it worked FABULOUSLY!

Too late for the dust vs no dust, I already dusted it all.

They work great because they just don't push the dirt around, they sort of absorb it. You have to use a soft brush first to get the corners clean, but then you go over it with one of those gloves. Best system I had found so far for dusting. Even better than rubbing my stuff on a carpet. I haven't tried a Swiffer type duster yet because I don't have one readily available and not really wanting to spend the money, but my experience with them from the past is they pick up dust too...but not as good as these gloves do because the gloves aren't really thick, you can use just one finger or two if you need. Just more maneuverability and control.

Washing pieces of course works the best. I recommend using an ultrasonic cleaner to get dust and grime out of small crevices in bricks.
