The next fan-suggested set to be produced is...*drumroll*

Nah, I won't spoil it. Watch the official announcement!

Not too bothered about that choice, I must admit. I would have preferred the Legends of Zelda, as it looked like the best set.

This looks cool, but I agree with Ieuan in that I would have preferred Legend of Zelda.

Looks like a nice small impulse purchase with a lot of cool parts. I'll buy a couple.

How I would have loved Sherlock. But that's more because I love the series than because I think they would have made good LEGO sets to be honest. All in all I think the best concept won this time, even though a couple of them were really neat (Zelda and the Japanese architecture set for example). I think it's excellent with more small but well designed sets with interesting parts.

I definitely think they made the right decision here. It hits that combination of broad appeal (I bet a lot of boys will want it just for the dinosaur skeleton, even if the scientists are all women), ease of production (no new molds or prints, no licensing to acquire), and applicability (fits into any City or other modern theme). The fact that they're projecting as early as August for the set release is telling. I'll definitely pick up at least one!

Just wanted to note that the set sold out in the first week. Brick-and-mortar and SAH, poof, gone.

Wow.

I'm not speaking from any "knowledge" but I think we need to go back to what the original agreement is when you submit a design to Ideas. Isn't it that there will be a 10000 run? I've never submitted. I don't even look at those sets. Will there be more? I don't know. I think that could go either way. Anything other than saying who knows and guessing based on wording online is just speculation. So...who knows.

My Research institute arrived yesterday. My Exo Suit is still backordered even though I ordered them both on the morning of August 1. When I ordered it it said ship date August 13, so I'm just gonna wait and hope for the best.

I've just heard that the Exo-Suit is NOT a limited-run set. There was a rumour going round that only 10,000 were going to be sold, but according to TBB this isn't true. Hooray!

The best bet for picking up an exo-suit for those that want it still seems to be buying one in a lego store. I know that seems obvious... and isn't possible for those not near a store, but there were 8 on the shelves in my local, and seems to be similar in a number of other stores.

I think it's a set that AFOLs are likely to snap-up online (in some cases purchasing more than one) but kid's just aren't going to chose instore.

Yes, sold out already. I'm glad I ordered two when I ordered my two Exosuits.

Interesting wording too. This is listed as "sold out" while the Exosuit is "temporarily sold out." This supports the idea that the Exosuit is getting a second production run. I wonder why the Research Institute (and Mars Rover) don't get a second run when they both sold out almost as quickly.
