LURP - Little Ugly Rock Pieceerikut wrote:and second i want to know all of the LEGO words stand for, like LURP, BURP and TLC and the rest of them.
BURP - Big Ugly Rock Piece
TLC - The Lego Company
TLG - The Lego Group
I don't know many others... I kind of start ignoring things when too many abbreviations or acronyms start getting used.

doctorsparkles already answered your question, but if you or anyone else is curious as to what a particular AFOL acronym means, this FAQ should help.erikut wrote:i want to know all of the LEGO words stand for, like LURP, BURP and TLC and the rest of them.

From the FAQ I mentioned above:lil Jon wrote:Sorrry to keep this going, but whats the difference between the LEGO company and The LEGO group?
TLC: The LEGO Company. Known by this name since Autumn 1999
TLG: The Lego Group. Nowadays TLC, The Lego Company.

Beware...as of this post I am a VILLEIN.
Good thread! When I first rediscovered lego, it took me quite a while before I found out what the "A" in AFOL stood for. I'm proud to say I figured out BURP all by myself. I still don't know what SNOT and SNIR stand for, though I have an idea what they mean. But as for POOP - no clue.
And while I'm at it, what's a gong farmer?
Lego gurus, please enlighten.

The other two are in the acronym FAQ, I mentioned previously.

Cowboy show from the 50's. Seriously, Dictionary.com lists it as: 1. A paragon of chivalry; a heroic champion. 2. A strong supporter or defender of a cause: “the paladin of plain speaking” (Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.). 3. Any of the 12 peers of Charlemagne's court.
Think of it as a knight that goes around saving the day for the gong farmers and other downtrodden. (In the cowboy show of the same name (aka Have Gun, Will Travel) that's pretty much what the guy did, just with a six-shooter rather than a sword.)
On SNOT, this stands for Studs Not On Top, which is any building style that turns your LEGO elements in different directions than the normal orientation. Holger Matthes has a good page on this here:
http://www.holgermatthes.de/bricks_us/i ... s/snot.htm
BTW (by the way), you'll sometimes see the term "Schleim" used, which (as I understand it) is the German word for snot. This was started as a joke by some German AFOLs. Check out this forum for more SNOTty stuff:

SNOT is more prevalent in space creations, but it's always good to see people try new building ideas in a castle setting too.
