colorful Ninjas led to colorful Knights theory?

Post by JPinoy »

Check this out...

Ninja theme had:
Red Ninja - (strong faction, only needed Ninjas)
Black Ninja - (villain faction)
Dark Grey Ninja - (smart by siding with the Shogun)
Green Ninja - (dares to wear green while serving a black & white clad Emperor)
White Ninja - (female)

Knights Kingdom II has:
Red Knight - (strong guy of the group)
Black Knight - (villain guy)
Purple-Voilet Knight - (smart guy of the group)
Green Knight - (daring guy of the group)
Medium Blue Knight - (somewhat effeminite)

From LEGO's standpoint, probably. I wonder if the multi-colored ninja from Kage No Gundan (Shadow Warriors) influenced this in some way, though. Sonny Chiba's Hattori Hanzo (reprised in Kill Bill) led the good-guy black-clad ninjas, and the bad guys had muted red, muted green, or gray as I recall. Look at the LEGO sets and you see the black ninja in conflict with bandits/ronin...?

Anyway, I suspect that's all hoo-ha on my part, and its probably the Power Rangers to blame (but didn't that come from?...oh my....).

No, the Robbers had those guys in red shirts with green vest and the other guys in red shirts with tattered brown leather padded armor. The black Ninjas are on their side.

Here's how the sub-themes go:
Shogun
Blue Samurai
Blue Samurai w/ "lorica" like armor
Dark Grey Ninja

Emperor
Green Ninjas
Ninja Princess (who for some reason is working w/ red Ninjas)

Robber w/ green vest
Robber w/ brown leather armor
Black Ninja

Red Ninja Master
Red Ninjas

--------------

Here's my opinion on how the Ninja theme story should go...

The Shogun took power by conquering all other Daimyos and is the leader of Japan, but he can't unseat the Emperor as that is not allowed in Japanese religious beliefs. He simply runs the country instead of the Emperor. The Robbers/Ronin are just masterless Samurais and Ninjas going around stealing stuff from the Shogun.

The Emperor meanwhile is being guarded by a Green Ninja duo and wanting to regain complete control of Japan but really has no power to oppose the Shogun. Secretly his daughter, the Ninja Princess, joined with the Red Ninjas in a bid to dislodge the Shogun from power and return her father to become the rightful ruler of Japan, instead of being just a powerless figurehead.

I know. 6045. The black ninja is swooping down, sword out, for the attack on the very guys you describe. He's not on their side, he is making a surprise attack. If you want to make them allies, that's perfectly okay of course - I'm certainly a proponent of throwing the LEGO script out the window and making my own.

Maybe its one of those cases in which the bad guys fights one another over something.

What's up with all your conspiracy theories? The skittles color knights are to be blamed from LEGO incorrectly making a product that they thought would attract their target market. Not because of aliens or Britney Spears.

Huzzah, huzzah, huzzah. Really, why are we talking about this?

I thought I saw the White Ninja on the MTV Movie Awards. Exposed! If ya know what I mean...

Actually it doesn't take me anymore than 5 mins to come up with this stuff. Believe me. Next time we go to BrickFest in '05 lets hang out and talk about castle or any new Lego development and I can instantly come up with some "conspiracy theory" just to make you guys think about it or even as a joke for some laughs.
