These are great because many of the pics are taken much more closely than it's possible to get when visiting the park. You can see a lot of the architectural details.
It's hardly cheating anyway. I mean, we do that all the time...
To be a little more on topic, it's nice to see the closer details. Personally, I've never really like those big Legoland figs, enamoured as I am with the minifig.
Yeah, they are cheating all the time. If the bricks don't stuck by themselves they just glue them.
And they cheated on the flag as well. They just made the machines produce a custom part for their needs...
I know they will custom-produce elements in colors unavailable in sets, but looking at that one it looks like paint to me. Or perhaps that is just because there is a coating of glue or anti-moisture sealant?

Perhaps the part is already weathered? It does not look glued to me. The shiny effect of glue (by the way an original LEGO glue, thus strictly purist-friendly....) you can witness on the buildings in the background. The flag is not made of the regular ABS material so it might be that the weathering behaviour is different, thus causes a different look.
Thanks for these pix Bruce NH. I was there in '98. Tell me, does NY have the Twin Towers? Did they remove after 9/11? I was hoping for more castle stuff. My best friend got to go to the Billund Land, lots of fantastic things to see.

I have never been to Legoland, but I may have to make the trip some day. I like the New Orleans set up the best of all of those I think, but I don't like the big figs, they should just have used minifigs. It must be nice to have an unlimited number of bricks and be able to create any brick that you need!

On that pic I linked above, there's a great argument for the old non-click hinge plates in the construction of those eaves.

No WTC. Isn't that odd? It lends credence to my belief that the Twin Towers themselves, as icons, meant relatively little to us as a nation, and much more to the orcs (what better word?) who destroyed them. We lament the people, but not the buildings themselves. Other more sacred landmarks were spared, thank God. I have seen Sean Kenney's MOC. Most impressive for what is essentially a tall square block. His eye is well attuned to his subject.
