Hi all,

Mike Crowley (aka Count Blockula) has posted a vignette of the Admiral's Quarters:

Interesting stuff. Quite nautical looking.

Is this an indiction that vignettes have become the rage across the internet community, and not just at CC?

What kind of a monster has been unleashed? :D

 Hehehehe. We're taking over.

I'm not sure if it's the rage yet. I think that all of the ones I've seen are by CC.com'ers or people one step removed. I've posted mine on Lugnet and FBTB, so I guess we're spreading the word.

I saw this over at FBTB. Amazing work, but Mike's stuff always is.

Anyway, while we're on the subject of vignettes, I think there should be a standard set. I've seen them in both 6x6 and 8x8 configurations. While the 8x8 obviously allows an additional 28 studs to build on which can be very helpful, it also is rather counter productive to the essence of vignettes; that being to show your idea in a very limited space. Anyway...just a thought...

Wow this is an awesome looking vignete. The use of gold things is spectacular. I didn't even know there were gold bricks and pieces. I just though there were gold coins and Samuirai horns
Space rocks.

The chrome gold round 1x1 plate is the "golden snitch" in a couple of Harry Potter sets. That gold tile with round ball (the desk drawer) also comes in one of the HP sets.

Trust me...8x8 is limited enough as it is...I don't think I could shrink ANY of my current vignettes down to 6x6. Some vignettes would work in 6x6, some would work in 8x8. Flexiblity is nice.

That is one cool vignette, the use of all the chrome gold looks great! My precioussssssssssssss...

Sorry this is a stupid question...

Where did the torso he has come from? I don't believe I've ever seen it before.

That is a pretty cool vignette. Very detailed. My favorite part is the lobster.

Well, to judge by the golden "H" badge, I would guess that it is a Harry Potter torso of some sort, but having never seen it before, or at least not remembering having seen it, I can't say for sure...

Over on Bothans Mike said it was from the Quidditch Practice set, which means it must be Madame Hooch.

Wow! Awesome! I really like the telescope and I find the...um...well, I'm not sure what it's called, but the gold and silver chrome and clear round 2x2 thingy very inspiring. Does anyone have any idea what it is?
