What do you think of my ship?

Post by Jacob C. »

Hello all! I am new to this forum! (couldn't find any other lego forum worth joining)
I just recently constructed & de-constructed an Old Dutch Frigate.
Here's the pics....

What do you guys think?
And also, those aren't sails! I didn't have any so I substituted with tissue paper. :)
I am currently working on a WWII U-Boat, I'll post pics when Im finished building.

Hi Jacob,

Welcome to Classic-Castle! That's a pretty cool ship. I like your solution for the sails, and also the clever way you've made a dutch flag.

Thats cool. I like your ship.

I want to build a pirates' ship, but I don't have the hull pieces.

Welcome to C-C.

Beautiful ship.

I have used paper for sails many, many times, and I don't see anything wrong with using it. It is just as good as cloth, and often comes closer to the real LEGO sails.

Loved the Dutch flag too. I've thought about making some flags like that before (such as Dutch, Russian, German), but you're the first person I've ever seen do it before.

I love a good sailing ship MOC. I've never been able to do one that comes out good, for some reason. My only negative comment is, the gun deck, for some reason I can't lay my finger on, doesn't quite do it for me. Maybe it is a little bit too tall. Other than that, great work. Maybe we can see its Spanish/French/English adversary?

Well my first thought when I saw it was, "that is a tall hull." Not bad Jacob C., nice amount of guns. I can't quite figure out how you did the top guns. The flag was ok, a bit tall though. Good job over all. Hope to see more.

Okay, since I had seen that before, let me re-phrase:

The first real-world flag that I recognised, redone in Lego, using only official Lego pieces.

There, that's better.

Wow! That must have taken a while.
