Favorite shield

I was browsing Bricklink earlier for some shields and some other great LEGO items when I thought of a question that I don't think has been asked. What is everyone's at C-C favorite shield? So this topic was born.

Just want to know what your favorite design out of ALL the LEGO shields was.

Mine is a two way tie for first. The Black Kngihts Shield and the Forestman Shield.

The second favorite of mine is the Royal Knights shield.

The third Favorite is the Black Falcon shield.

well my favorite Lego one is the Crusader, followed by the KK1 lions head on a saltire, but my favorite in general is the one I made

My favorite official one is the Black Falcons (either border), but the custom one my "sigfig" is holding is a close second, if not a tie.

I wish that BF shields came in ovoid in official sets...

My favorite shield is the one with a blue field and yellow "shamrocks" or "fleur de lis" pattern from the Yellow Castle.

But I also really like all shields before the mid 1990's and especially those designed before 1984.

Hey Freak, I also like the Crusader's Shield but not enough to be for first second or third. Mybe I don't like it that much because I don't really know much about the Crusaders.

Hey Azaghal: I Like your custom shield. I didn't really notice it before.

Ho there Ben: I personnaly don't really like any of the classic shields except the one you like and the green and yellow design. I also like the Red and Blue one though.

I don't really have a favourite shield. I like pretty much any shield produced between 1979 and 1992 (My least favourite of those being the Wolfpack shields). I have a preference for the Crusader (allthough I hate that name), and the BF shields. I don't like any of the heraldry produced from DM and beyond (with the possible exception of the Bulls from KK1). I particularly dislike the Royal Knight emblem. That cartoon lion is just too... um cartoonish.

Post 1992 soldiers such as KK1, have no real place in my Kingdom. These poor fools are usually refitted with Black Monarch or Crusader shields.

Oh. Official LEGO designs. Hmmmm. Black Falcon, blue border, not yellow. Followed closely by the Wolfpack shield. OOOOoooooOOOOOooooo!

The classic 375 Maltese cross. It just has a nice look to it. My next favourite would be the Black Monarchs, even though the Black Falcons are my favourite faction.

Of coúrse do I like the blue Black Falcon shield the best.

But I also like the shields from 383 and 677:

Well, I've go to say that I think the Blue-background Crusader is my favourite, followed by the Black Monarch one, followed by the Shamrock/Fleur de Lis, with the yellow bordered BF shield next, and the Yellow-background Crusader finishing off the top five.

That's the official shields.....

There are so many awesome customs out there, I wouldn't know where to start.

Anything from before 1990 (especially most of the Yellow Castle), plus the Dark Forest/Forestmen shield and Wolfpack is fine in my book. Triangular Black Knights is also a favorite.

Personally, the thing I like about Yellow Castle minifigs is the fact that they seem to be a number of different lords swearing fealty to a King (I assume Purple w/ Crown to be the King). Just strikes a more accurate feeling with me even though the shield designs themselves aren't particularly detailed in their heraldry.

'Tis a shame I don't even have any sticker-cloned Yellow Castle figs. Well, I suppose I'll print off some designs for the Yellow Castle Category, though.
