and the patch is direct from Legoland CA - I have the royal knights one on my jacket, so Santa put this in his stocking this year....

I actually just got myself a leather jacket.....I think I'm getting ideas!
Sowing for this kind of work isn't neccessarily really. Usually the whole process is done on a machine. You can buy them in stores for around.....oh, no more than $3000.....but who wants to spend that much on a sewing machine when their whole spending life is devoted to LEGO!
