So, who here uses custom stickers on LEGO parts?

Post by Sir Terrance »

Do you or would you use custom stickers on LEGO parts? Just a question to see who does and who doesn't. I know I do, makes armies alot cheaper. I only put stickers on parts I order from bricklink, not parts from sets I collected, so how about you?

I like to make 'em and print em. Sometimes I think they look better than the orginal stuff and other times I just dont know what the heck to do with extra harry potter peoples.

I do for shields. You just can't have an impressive Black Falcon cavalry with those tiny triangle shields.

I also have done some torso's for peasants, just to get rid of those harry potter figures. But I stick to original Lego designs (with some of Anthony's color variations  ).
Let them come...
They will break upon this fortress like water on rock!

I think there are several levels of using stickers.

1. No (append no rationalizations).
2. Yes, but only to replace old or missing stickers.
3. Yes, but only duplicates of actual Lego designs.
4. Yes, but only duplicates of actual Lego designs though I may vary the colors.
5. Yes, but only stickers that stay within the Lego style, though not specifically based on Lego designs.
6. Yes (append no equivocations).

I'm a 6. Feel the Power of the Dark Side!

I am also a 6. I have not yet had a chance to fully stretch my sticker using to the fullest, but I expect sometime in June I will have a new printer and then I will be attacking Harry Potters and enlisting them into my castle armies.

After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.

I would definitely say that I am a 6. I keep holding off on stickering my whole army until I can finalize the designs.
(who knows when that will be)

It is hard to debate that a large army of uniformed soldiers looks GREAT. Custom designs allow peeps to take LEGO to the next level.

Hehe, there is no place that you can buy stickers (unless you get the LEGO ones from their first sets). Anthony Sava, a moderator of this site, has done some wonderful articles on stickers, found here. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see his articles. There are many wonderful sticker designs that you can save to your computer and print. You can also download the Photo Shop files for each sticker so that you can modify them easily, if you have a good photo editing program. If you have any questions, just let me know.

Yes, and no. I have a few figs I've stickered with un-Lego like designs, but generally I stick to using official non stickered parts only. I also have a few I've 'fixed up' with a permanate marker.

no, no stickers never!
It is un-lego-like,
Besides, consider the minifig,
Lived his life one way, and even smiled through it,
even if he was timmy,
And slap,
His world has ended.

Never!

No stickers. I don't like to alter the brick at all. Maybe I like the challenge of incorporating in Lego designed parts? Who knows?

I must say, however, the quality of the sticker designs here are excellent. If I did ever use stickers, there are plenty of great ones to choose from...
