Tunic/Armor/Purist Solution

Post by Sir Smittens »

I made a template for a tunic-like thing you can print out. It can be found here: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/SirSm ... /tunic.psd

Also, in my gallery (I'm not sure if it's public yet) you can find some examples of tunics.

After making this, I realized it has three uses;
1) Tunic
2) Armor, if an armor pattern is printed
3) A solution for purists; it fits over the minifigs head like armor, so it doesn't have permanent effects like stickers.

Pictures of each use will be up at the latest by the end of tomorrow; sooner if I can get my camera working today.

Add a tuck-flap at the end/bottom of each torso with 2 punch holes for the legs so the purist can tuck in the tunic altogether.

Hey, I like that. Change a fig into twenty factions, without modifying it. Nice.

DUUUUDE
thanks so much for this template as it was the basis for my kilts.
I just wanted to acknowledge you for this great contribution and show how it spawned something else. :)
Keep it up. I may want to morph another idea of yours :D

Thanks a bunch, Freak.

I had been a little disapointed by the lack of comments, but yours made the hours spent creating a template worth it!

The kilts look really nice…it was exciting to see a topic titled "Nac Mac Feegle" as they are from one of my favorite books!

Sorry its taken me so long to reply...

This seems useful for the non-sticker style or armor, but I figured the point of a tunic was for it not to be flat against the minifig.

I was referring mostly to your #2 and #3 uses. That is, armor doesn't stick out like a tunic would.

Sorry, was confused. Thank you for improving on it though, as it would look odd for armor that sticks out. Before, I had used thin pieces of clear tape, but it doesn't work very well for purists...
