Just editing this to show you what the real life Kampilan sword looks like.... This is from a movie poster of a Filipino actor Ernie Reyes Jr. who is portraying one of my nation's national hero: King Lapu-Lapu.... the king of Mactan island who fought and defeated Magellan and his soldiers.
Ernie Reyes as Lapu-Lapu:

Of course my version has an elongated hand grip as its meant for use on horseback and its for use by soldiers of a legendary kingdom from ancient Philippine mythology.

I like that Kampilan, but this might be the wrong topic for it. The sword blade looks like it may have been cut to make it fit and this was supposed to be a purist type topic. Not to be nitpicky, but there are some great topics for custom weapons that aren't purist pieces. It's still a cool weapon though. And if it is a "pure" custom, can you show more detail, I'd love to see how you put it together.JPinoy wrote:A Kaharian-Kampilan (cavalry variant).....

After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.

The newer KK2 swords looks like they're better made to fit into 1x4 antenas and 4L lightsabre bars, but I don't think I'll be replacing the 100+ chrome-silver great swords that I had to... *gasp* cut, to make the cavalry Kaharian-Kampilans. BTW, the Mandirigma-Hari minifig of me uses the chrome-gold variety.wlister wrote: I like that Kampilan, but this might be the wrong topic for it. I will get a more detailed pic of it when I get home. Plus I will finally reveal the Kahilawayan heavy infantry soldiers, the Mandirigmas as well as the royal guard versions... the Ngkahari-Mandirigmas.
