White Mantle Knight

Post by Vidgamer838 »

Wow, haven't made a post here in a looong time.
This has been in progress for well over a few years now, and just recently took up the project of finishing it. I would have entered it in CCCVI this year, but ended up being too late.

It's a beauty. Is that a kk2 shadowknight helm you modded?

I particularly like the wrist guards

Are the shoulderguards modified from the Lego pieces or custom? How did you smooth them out?

Wow, this one really stands out. My eye was drawn to the design on the vambrace, did you paint that on as I suspect. It is a great accent.

In that case, it makes the defeat even sadder.

Thanks all!

Ricks-Ricks: Yep, that was a KK2 Shadow Knight helmet that I basically just sanded down and painted.

Heir of the Black Falcon: The shoulder armor are the standard lego Epaulletes, dremeled down to achieve the shoulder-pauldron look I had wanted, and then painted silver like the helmet and vambraces.

The Blue Knight: They're actually waterslide decals. There's an identical design on the other vambrace, as well as the quiver. Thanks, glad you liked that and it stood out. It can sometimes be hard to photograph the matallic inks on decals.

Very very nice. Looks like some sort of Romano-Celtic warrior from the woods.... It's awesome.

Are the waterslides custom? '(because) those are really cool looking. And good job on the photo.

Ok, I've seen several people with Brickarms swords. I've checked the Brickarms website and they aren't on there. Is there some other place to get them?

Yep, the waterslide decals are all me, I designed and printed them. When I met Will and Co. at BrickCon this fall, he gave me one of his new prototype swords. While not available for mass sale yet, I believe he definitely hopes to include it in an upcoming mold soon.
