So here's my dilemma:
When I first started making triangular shield images, I did it for C-C and it's homepage. The fact that these images could then be used as stickers was an after-thought, but it soon turned into the main purpose.
Unfortunately, when I created the template for the images, I based the template off the official LEGO designs, not the official LEGO shields. Because of this I've recieved several complaints about my triangular shield stickers not covering up the entire shield.
So here's the question: Should I change the template and all triangular shields found in my sticker articles to reflect the estimated 0.05 cm increase in width, or is the triangular shield template 'good enough'/close to the right size as necessary?

I make all mine a little larger than yours to address that very problem already- I was always a bit curious that you got the kite shields spot on but the heater shields were off to a noticable degree.
It's one of those things, if you have the time and energy, I'd recommend changing them, but it's up to your own artistic satisfaction.

Fortunately, since it's only, as I estimate it, a 0.05 cm increase in width, meaning moving the edges out 0.025 cm in either direction, I don't think I'll have to change any of the images on the shields themselves. Since I based all the images off the design and not relative to the shield itself, the designs should already be or close to the right size. Editing the existing designs should be pretty quick and painless; there are very few designs that join up with the edges.TwoTonic Knight wrote:I make all mine a little larger than yours to address that very problem already- I was always a bit curious that you got the kite shields spot on but the heater shields were off to a noticable degree.

It's just getting a template that is the right size that's the trick. But since the heater shield is just about the same width as the kite shield, I have that to work from.
So if I do indeed decide to change it, and those of you who know me know I obsess about things like this, I have a plan of attack.
But if there's enough outcry against it, I guess I better leave it be.

Keep them as they are. Don't fix it if it is not broke.

Hmmm, I can only assume that either printer variation or lots of bleed on cheap paper accounts for this, because it certainly seems "broke" to me (which is overstating it - it's just off by enough to be annoying).
Just to satisfy myself, I printed out a bunch of the latest one, both standard and with a quick pass at correction (locked proportions, expanded to 162 pixels wide, and I'd say that after cutting it out, I'd unlock it and expand just the width by two more pixels). The SavaStandard leaves blank shield all the way around and at least some printed area. Corrected I almost don't have to Brasso off the design except for the stuff that has bled onto the sides.
However, I'm adapt at changing it to exactly what I want, and if everyone else is content with what is there, perhaps it isn't worth your time. Again, maybe it's something that is less noticable on cheap paper.
