Orc Torsos

Post by divonic »

Nothing special here. but I combined the bare chested orc design done by Roaglaan and the original scale mail design (pdf format from the classic castle articles by Anthony Sava and Joey Finnel) and came up with these:

I need to add some variety to my Orc Hoard.

The use of this style of scale mail creates a totally different effect than the bare-chested Lego orcs. This style hints at greater organization, higher rank, or more wealth. I could see these used as orc officers in a moc.

I agree with Seikfried. It shows another subsection of orkish military or culture. To be fair I hope TLC does a bit more to get more troll/orc torsos out as they are pretty limited so far.

Here are some more.

Yeah these torsos seem to imply more organized than the official LEGO trolls. In my world the orcs are more organized, (though) not particurarly well organized. Usually a berzerker commander who riles up the troops and charges them into battle with an intelligent tactical sub commander who points them in the right direction :)

I'll post a few pics of my hoard once I figure out how to get my pics in focus. (I'm not sure if 23 orcs is a hoard, maybe a raiding party)

Nice work, if you want something that looks more disorganized you can try using some of Anthony's designs from his Aboddon's army. Other than that keep it up.

I've been working on some orc faces as well. I used monkfish44's orc face as a starting point.

I like those faces with the "war paint" on them! :D

Yes the skull face-paint looks very good. Some nice ideas for someone's orc horde. :orc:

Very nice Divonic. I especially like the skull face paint. Nice job with keeping in "theme" of the current line yet adding a personal touch. A tatooed print on the face might be cool as well using the tool (which name escapes me at the moment) to give it a faded/see through look. Keep up the good work.

I've been trying to make a troll skull tattoo using the official LEGO troll skull image. it isn't working as well as I'd like. I tried arm tattoos, and a face tatoo. but it didn't look good, too small. .

but your suggestion got me thinking. I'm gonna try some tribal tattoos. (though) they may be too small.

Wow! These are fantastic!

The scale mail torsos are my faves, but the studded versions are really great as well. And as the others have already mentioned, the face paint looks awesome on both of those decals!

I never have luck with face decals, but this gave me an idea to try and paint it onto the Orc heads I have (at least one or two, to see how it goes).

Good job! :)

Here is a preview of my orc faction. I've just recently ordered some water slide decal paper so I can replace the taped on printer paper look.

BTW Lamanda my Orc Commander is wearing one of your Orc Capes.

In the above pic I have also used torso designs by Roaglaan and face designs by monkfish44.

They look very nice, good luck with the waterslide... my biggest problem was matching the colors of the torso's especially the sand green. Look cool though, would be great with the new orc sword and shield from brickforge, need some myself. Keep it up and post pics when you can.

The new brick forge goblin shield and sword are what inspired me to work on my orc faction. They are in there; but they are sorta hidden. I think you can see one of each.
