LEGO Elf: contains poll
This is an Elf I made back during the big contest earlier this year, and I am continuing the writing of the story that I will make a Brickfilm out of. While writing about the elves, I began to ponder whether or not I should make ears for them. So I thought I would see what other people think before I decide.

You always gotta try, otherwise you will get nowhere. It's a good fig too, I say yes.

In addition to the two possibilities you suggest:
No ears, as in this by Jon Furman:
Sculpted pointy ears, as in this by Joey Finnel:
You could also modify a hairpiece to suggest pointy ears, as in this by boses
Personally, I like this third option as it gives you a distinct look for elves but is still more "LEGO-y" than the sculpted ears.

I think I'd not do anything or go with Bruce's last solution, cut outs. Fits better to my eye.

I wouldn't do anything. Your elf looks amazing as it is. And Lego people don't have ears, as it says in the options for the poll. I think their bow, hair and outfit is enough to let people know that she is an elf. She is perfect how she is in my opinion.

Sculpted ears from Bruce's post, that fig only looks good IMO from behind.

Re: LEGO Elf: contains poll
I don't think that the hair and bow are enough to show that she's an elf...she could be a female forestman based on those pieces.

From what she is wearing, I wouldn't say that is typical forest women clothing. It looks more enchanted, as well as the bow. Forest men and/or women usually aren't seen with trans blue bows, and I think they are more fit for mystical creatures, such as an elf.

Details, details. She still doesn't really look like an elf, she's doesn't have that elven "elegance."The Shadow Knight wrote:From what she is wearing, I wouldn't say that is typical forest women clothing. IMO she looks like an awesome elf exactly how she is! If you cant pick up on the details that give hints that show she is an elf, and need big pointy ears to show it, then you really can't appreciate people's work.
