The Pale Masque minifig (Thunderhead Marauders)

Post by Morgan19 »

This was made for Eurobricks' MCW contest, as the basis for a hypothetical steampunk/skypirate theme with a heavy fantasy/Medieval influence.

Whoa! super cool! Howd you add the silver and stuff to the shield?

In short, Karrde's right. ;) The shield piece was originally transparent neon orange. I painted it all black, then added the bronze paint, then the silver.

Thats the best custom Castle minifig I've seen  Though it is not completly cast but still with a few ajustments it would fit in with any castle creation. :D

That mini figure looks awesome! What type of paint did you use and are they brickforge weapons that the mini figure is holding?

The black is Krylon Fusion spraypaint; the silver and brown/bronze colors are Golden brand acrylic paints.

The spear and shield are actually painted MegaBloks weapons-- I found a ton of something called "Plasma Dragon" packs on clearance for $1 and each one has a bunch of interesting weapons like those. They're in obnoxious colors like trans-blue and neon orange, but they come out pretty nice once re-painted.

Since this figure uses paint, this discussion belongs in the Castle Customs section. I am moving it there.

And here's a Marauder Soldier to keep The Pale Masque company on those long intercontinental flights:

The Marauder soldier helmet is inspired. That's a great way of thinking "outside the box".
