Brasso and books

Brasso and books
I have read that LEGO changed the swords a while ago from ABS to another plastic, and was wondering if the books are the other plastic too. Will Brasso work on the LEGO books if they aren't ABS plastic but something else? Thanks for any answers.

If you are careful, brasso can be used to take the print off books. Use the brasso sparingly, rub the print with a q-tip very lightly and in small circles. I have heard it can make that plastic used in swords and books brittle, but I have not experienced that problem.
