Uses of the KK2 armors

Post by JPinoy »

I only have Danju and Vladek so far. Infact, I have 2 of each. Soon however I'll get the other knights from that Vladek Attack pack from S@H. That'll add the 3 other knights from the Fab 5 Knights group.

Anyhow here is how I use a few of their armor pieces. Im using both Vladek armors for my Atlantean cavalry but Im waiting for the Scorpion shields.... or does Atlantean Cavalry even need shields? But, no Atlantean cavalry pics for now.

Tyrean (Phoenician) cavalry

Reason: The Phoenicians got their name from the Greeks who named them from the purplish dyes they were famous for. So I use that purple armor on them.

Phrygian (Trojan) cavalry

Reason: Vladek's helmet seems to go along well with the Trojan's dark red, dark gray, and tan color scheme. Plus it looks like the head of a Gryphon (how my H.S. spelled it), thus the Gryffindor shield.

Phrygian (Trojan) infantry

Reason: Pretty much the same for the Vladek helmet. The Shadow Knight helm looks good on him imo.

Later, I'll add more uses for the KK2 armors. BTW, I have YET to find uses for the helmets/visors of the other 4 knights aside from selling them.

***Please wait as some pics need to be modded in BrickShelf.***

I'll buy the purple visor, to be spraypainted(that goes for all purists) I'll take a look after mod, sounds good.

Looks good. The use of the vladek visor for once looks good. The shadow knight helmet does look like the ancient greek helmets, more so to me than a barbute despite the lack of the nose protector. Kind of looks more spartan to me, though. I'm not sure about the tyrean cavalry, but I guess it is purple armor, so it is a good use of that. Nice job overall.

The figures all look nice, though I'm not sure I'd spot a single one of them for the historical prototype you correlate them with.

But then, drafting medieval figs to ancients is a thankless task. :D

Looks pretty good, I guess. I like the Tyrian best. Looking at them, I don't really think "Ancient" so much as my mind leaps to "Fantastical". I can see the correlations, though. And "fantastical" is often based off of real anyways.

And as TTK said, its a thankless task you given yourself. One hopes that you derive satisfaction from it (although it is readily apparent that you do).

Nice use of these colourfulpieces. The way you have designed them is good as it drowns out the color of the breastplate and makes it fit in with the fig. And, yes as some of the others said, they aren't too historically correct but they look nice! :D

Thanks guys. I just look up either movies, or statues/figures, and pics to come up with the CLOSEST historical look. The Tyrean one was really a combo of Carthaginian and Assyian/Israelite armor. I tend to "color scheme" my armies including the Military ones, so I gave purple to the Tyreans.

As for my Ancients thought of as being meant to be "historically accurate".... check these guys out:
Atlantean Automaton
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=901003
Kahilawayan cavalry
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=903220

However when it comes to other factions, I have an easier time making them look more accurate.
I have some Mongol figs that look like this guy, but with an older type of headgear.
However this figure is medieval during Genghis' time, but my Mongols are meant to be at least 1000 years older thus the justification of using the Mongol hat from Adventurers. I'll post a pic of my 2 kinds of Mongol warriors later.

Actually this figure's attire inspired me to make my Ancient Mongol Khan fig. The regular soldiers have less violet on them. I saw a pic of a Mongol reinactor and he had brown armor and tan colored tunics & robes. So I comboed the violet, brown and tan.
