Question with molding

OK, this isn't Castle, it isn't even LEGO, but this forum is the only place I know of that can help me, so here's where I turned.

I'd like to make a mold of a reproduction (non-firing), single-action western revolver. I don't want to damage it at all, which means no residue on the gun when I'm done. This repro is pretty valuable to me, so I don't want to play with it, but I'd like something like it to play with, so I thought of making a mold with which I could make a none-functioning model to play with, sort-of like a rubber gun. How would you go about this? What materials should I use for the mold, and for the finished product?

Thanks,

mD

Hi D,

I would recommend that you email a custom parts maker and ask them in private what to do.

This is not the appropriate place or website to post this topic so I will lock it.
