Hello everyone!
A little background is in order. I came out of my Dark Age about 6 years ago with the interest my oldest had with LEGO. We went Christmas shopping and spotted the 7142 X-Wing. I love Star Wars and he desperately wanted a LEGO set. How could I say no? So Santa's helper spent Christmas Eve building the set and Santa's helper's wife knew her life was about to change as the exclamations of "Cool!", "Sweet!", "Honey, look at how they did this!", and "I've got to get me one of these!" filled that festive (and sleepless) night. Soon after that, I "recovered" my LEGO box from its anonymity at my parents house and the fun began (again).
As you can tell, I'm mainly a SW LEGO fan but I have dabbled in Castle from time to time. That was until I saw a few of RebelRock's creations and then stumbled onto this site. Shangri'la! Now, much to my wifes chagrin, I've jumped into the castle line full tilt.
I really like a lot of the sets that have come out over the last two years and have purchased quite a few of the vikings and fantasy sets to play with on the side so I guess I'm not a complete nooblet.
I am somewhat of an army builder (600+ Imperials can attest) so I have raided my brother's old LEGO sets (kept in meticulous storage at my parents house as well) and have assembled quite a vast array of Forestmen, Crusaders, Dragon Knights and others to man my battlements along side my growing numbers of Dwarves and Knights.
I look forward to scouring these forums for all sorts of tips and tricks and hopefully adding one or two. I also look forward to sharing my budding castle themed MOC's and eliciting your most helpful criticism.
Thanks,
Tim
PS. Dont tell my bro's about those figs. It'll be our little secret.
