I am new and want to say "Hi"

Post by drkstrcrashes67 »

Hello everbody, I wanted to introduce myself as a new member of Classic Castle. I am 27 years old and no stranger to toys or Legos. I recently sold off my vintage GI Joe collection and Medicom Kubrick collection (Japanese toys similar to Lego). These toys had been collected and kept in storage for the past ten years, and I decided that they and I had no future together. Collecting these lines had become a chore and neither offered much "playability". I also have a complete Palisades Muppets collection for those of you whom are familiar with the line. These might be my favorite "action-figures" land are very close to my heart. I have no intention of parting with these ever.

This brings me to my Legos. For years (since youth) my sets had remained in storage. Never once did I consider selling them though. This past weekend I pulled them out to take stock of what was there as I had some Star Wars sets which I intened to sell on eBay. So far I have accounted for the majority of the bricks in 6060, 6041, 6054, 6016, 6040, 6039, 6012, 6071, 6066, 6061, 6085, 6080, 6073, 6030, 6074, and 6081. Clearly I consider myself a collector again! I am still cataloging what is left, but I am rapidly running out of bricks. I am missing some pieces of course, so I may be doing business in the future with some of you on Bricklink. Right now I am working out a plan on Excel to organize my purchases before jumping in.

I am very excited to return to the world of Lego collecting as they were always my favorite as a kid. I picked up Dwarves Mine yesterday and I understand from a cursury review of the forum that recent sets have been awesome and the future of Castle looks bright. Considering the Dark Age I have emerged from, I have a lot of catching up to do. I ask that fellow forum members take it easy on me if I ask a question which might be entirely obvious to them. I dont think that will be a problem, but considering some forums I have visited for various hobbies or toy collecting in the past, I know how evil the internets and tough guys who hide behind it can be.

I think that covers it and I hope to get my hands on one of those Advent Calandars. Peace

drkstrcrashes67,

Welcome aboard! I have not been on here too long either, perhaps a year now. The CC has been a great place to see some really neat Lego creations as well as source for both old and new castle lego info.

I have seen some of the Palisades Muppets figures. I think my brother got ahold of a kermit actually has a camera of something if I remember right.

Don't worry about questions most here are pretty helpful and friendly.

Whenever someone returns to Lego, its like discovering a whole new world. I am sure you will enjoy all the stuff you will learn.

Hope you like it here at CC. As Josh said, we will answer just about any question you ask to the best of our ability.

Hope you build something soon.

Welcome to the site. I think you picked a good time to come out of your dark age, as there are some great sets out now with more to come. Answers? We have plenty of answers here. It's the questions that boogle the mind.
