Here's the idea - an easy to use reference of all active C-C members! Just reply to this message with your info instead of mine. Please move all discussion to another thread.

Screenname:
Glencaer

Realname:
Lenny Hoffman

Age:
24 (Nov 25, 1979)

City/State:
Tallahassee, Florida

Profession:
I work at a Library as a staff supervisor, but I want to be a high school history teacher (got my BA in history)

My BrickShelf Account/Website:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/galle ... m=glencaer

Themes I Build In:
Castle mainly, but also a lot of Space - I like doing 3CS related Castle structures, and spaceships within my "Eastern Block" theme.

First Castle Set:
6041 http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6041 The Armor Shop - I was six when this came out - I loved playing with it so much. Of course, lost everything, including the black sword.

Favorite Castle Set:
6066 Forestman's Outpost http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6066 - beautiful in its simplicity - filled with hours of playtime!

Favorite MOC (at this time) of my own:
Castle Julian is really nice.
Image

Favorite MOC of someone else's:
Now that I've had a chance to see it in person, I'm really loving James Brink's Butcher Shop - I'm also a big fan of Onishi Shinji's work http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/galle ... m=shinji-o check it out if you havent and prepare to be schooled!

Your favorite non-Castle theme:
I buy a lot of the Star Wars sets - they were out when I was coming out of my dark ages, and I still think they are lots of fun.

If you were to be in the medieval ages, what would you profession be:
I think I would be a poor knight - someone who watches over a small hamlet, but has to work the land as well - and fights for the king when is called up. Something like Rob Roy in the film version.

Do you own a copy of the legendary 3033?
I own two ;)

Now it is your turn!

Every classic minifig theme (Castle, Town, Space, Pirates)

First Castle Set:
6022 http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6022 "Turnierwagen mit Ritter, Knappe und Pferd." - I got it in the advent calendar in 1984, the same calendar brought me 6040 http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6040 the "Burgschmiede mit Rauchfang, Amboß, Pferd, Wagen, Schmied und Ritter."

Favorite Castle Set:
6067 "Wachhaus mit Pferdestall" http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6067 - When I opened the 1986's catalogue I wasn't able to move my eyes away from this beautiful set. And I got it for my birthday the same year.

Favorite MOC of someone else's:
That's a tough question. I'll open the recent galleries and pick the first MOC that I think would be able to be a favourite. (/away BrickShelf ...)

Themes I Build In:
Castle, and technically Mecha because of my Beasties

First Castle Set:
6081 http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6081 King's Mountain Fortress - Not my first LEGO set, but it's what really got me started. What a great set.

Favorite Castle Set:
6080 King's Castle http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6080 - One of the few Castle sets I don't own, and the one I most regret not getting. Of course, I was 5 years old at the time, and not terribly interested in LEGO Castle yet. :)

Favorite MOC (at this time) of my own:
Stonebarrow Keep - its' days are numbered.
Image
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=55016

Favorite MOC of someone else's:
Always has been, forever will be: Ed Boxer's LEGO Castle.
Image
http://www.geocities.com/WestHollywood/9172/castle.html

Your favorite non-Castle theme:
Castle. Oh wait, you said non-castle. C... c.... Castle! Hmm... S... St.. staCastle!

Star Wars and Harry Potter both are terrific themes when it comes to spare parts. However, since the Star Wars sets are better constructed and more fun to play with, I'd have to pick that.

If you were to be in the medieval ages, what would you profession be:
I think I'd be a blacksmith or a carpenter. I like working with my hands, and they're both noble professions.

Do you own a copy of the legendary 3033?
Eight copies.

Themes I Build In:
I prefer Castle. I also build sculptures, western, pirates, town, and mosaic. In the future, I want to branch out into other themes as well.

First Castle Set:
6030 Catapult - The best catapult that Lego has ever made (in my biased opinion)

http://www.classic-castle.com/sets/imag ... 4/6030.jpg

Favorite Castle Set:
6080 King's Castle - Great realism, wonderful piece selection, and excellent figures.
http://www.classic-castle.com/sets/imag ... 4/6080.jpg

Favorite MOC (at this time) of my own:
City Gate - it rocks! :D
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=59006

Favorite MOC of someone else's:
Like Lenny, I think James Brinks Butcher Shop is one of the best moc's I have seen in a long time (with only one structural flaw ;) )

Your favorite non-Castle theme:
Sculptures

If you were to be in the medieval ages, what would you profession be:
I would be a stone mason. Although my ancestors had professions like Lumberjacks and minor nobility.

Do you own a copy of the legendary 3033?
Legendary? Show me the grey!
Yes I do own it. I prefer the 4400 tub though.

Themes I Build In:
Castle... I also will forray into town and fantasy themes like Belville if my kids want me to build them something.

First Castle Set:
375/6075 http://guide.lugnet.com/set/375_2 The Yellow Castle - I was given this for Christmas 1980, Sadly nothing of this set remains, only fond memories...

Favorite Castle Set:
6086 Black Knight's Castle
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6086 Large army, barding, euro armor...
And
6080 King's Castle
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6080
I just like both of them about the same, I can't pick.

Favorite MOC of my own:
None, I have yet to be truly happy with anything I build. I sort of like the way my Bull's Keep http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=13055 looks, It did what I wanted. It was a bigger castle but had the feel of the older classic castle sets. That was what I set out to do so I guess it worked that way.

Favorite MOC of someone else's:
I can't really pick a favorite, I love Anthony's Dragons, Onishi Shinji's castles http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/galle ... m=shinji-o and Dave's big black Wizard's Tower. There are many ohters out there as well.

Your favorite non-Castle theme:
None, unless something is on sale I always feel like I have paid too much. I purchase from many themes for parts etc... but I wouldn't consider any a favorite. If a system pirate theme was on shelves again, it would qualify as a favorite non-castle theme.

If you were to be in the medieval ages, what would you profession be:
Mercenary, I have been known to be greedy ruthless and a bit of a madman when I fight. :D

Do you own a copy of the legendary 3033?
Yes, I have 2.

http://12.223.136.182/beaumaris/swview.jpg Beaumaris by Bob Carney.
And anything by Jojo - He is my hero.

Star Wars

Themes I Build In:
Castle mainly, but also others (SW, HP, Western, Space, etc.)

First Castle Set:
One of these three promotional sets:
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?qc=lego/sy ... ionalshell
Would you believe I never had any Castle sets as a kid (mostly Classic Space in those days).

Favorite Castle Set:
Hmm, tough one. Either the Yellow Castle because it started the theme (with all bricks), or the MOC Blacksmith Shop because it was such a cool build (and such a cool idea to license AFOL designs).

Favorite MOC (at this time) of my own:
Very tough. Would it be too heretical to pick a non-Castle MOC? I'm just really happy with this stagecoach:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=282034
Favorite Castle MOC is here:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=573014

Favorite MOC of someone else's:
Very tough. My knee-jerk reaction is to say anything ever built by Onishi Shinji:
http://home.att.ne.jp/apple/hachi/ce_top.htm
But that Beaumaris by Bob Carney is amazing. Actually, anything he does is. So can I vote for anything by Bob Carney for favorite historical MOC and anything by Onishi Shinji for favorite fictional MOC?

Your favorite non-Castle theme:
I was 8 when Star Wars came out and it shaped much of my play for the next several years, so the SW theme is obvious (also as a source of Castle torsos). I also really like the Western theme, though I wish they'd gone one more year to do more civilian stuff (Settlers' Wagon, Homestead Farm, Cattle Drive, Western Train Station, etc.).

If you were to be in the medieval ages, what would you profession be:
I'd probably be a monk copying texts by hand.

Do you own a copy of the legendary 3033?
Nope.
