Great set, and the first(?) in a (much too) long line of catapults. Two falcon figs with round shields (I only have one still intact). Green flags too...

My only question: how do they load the catapult with the bucket up so high?

We need more sets like this (and less of the KK2 nonsense)

10/10

I had this set. It's really good because it has a variety of weapons and the trash can lid shields are always good. What a classic set.

Great set! Brings back a lot of memories. It was the first catapult and I loved the idea then (Lego that actually fired!). Sure, it is old hat now, but it was awesome then. Good figs, cool shields, what isn't to like?

Josh

PS. Teaser Alert: this set will be seen in the Battles Contest II, coming in February...

I like this set. It is one of my alltime favorite!

The only catapult from Lego that I like. And 2 round shields.

Yes, this one of my favorite mini-sets. As someone who had replied earlier had mentionned, I also liked the clever use of Technic pieces in Castle. Brown wheels would have better though. Round shields are always perks since they can be used with any faction.

I would roll my eyes at the fact that it's a catapult set, save that back then catapults weren't overused. The design of the set is a bit odd, but at least they tried to make it kinda realistic. But regardless of it's design and purpose, who could resist buying it for those two falcons with round shields. Bit biased maybe, but I gotta love it for the shields if nothing else.

Neet set. Good for army building. Nice variety and amount of weapons and pieces. Round shields of course, and who can't love black falcons? (even as bad guys) It was a good first siege weapon, a bit tall looking, but still very functional. The secondary set from the idea book is really nice as well.
Merry Christmas!!!

The first, and IMO probably the nicest LEGO seige weapon. This set was great! This catapult is the best looking catapult LEGO ever produced. It functioned well, and it looked quite believable (even if it is inaccurate). The two soldiers are also quite nice. Compared to the buzzsaw throwers of today, this thing is brilliant (IMO of course).

Later.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I got this today after purchacing it off e-bay. I love this set, even though the balance of my affections fall slightly toward the lion knights.

The catapult is well constructed, without using large prefab peices (KK catapults) and the 'stone' wheels are nice for something different.

The figs and accessories are great too. These are my first round shields so I'm pretty excited about that, and the set I recieved had an extra sword.

In short, while I don't mind the newer sets too much, the pale in comparison to these classic sets 10/10

Nevermind Slobey...

Oh men...THIS IS A CATAPULT...
Black Falcons...When they're gonna make something like this...
Without much thinking,I give it 9.5/10...
(and that 0.5 was only for wheels...the brown-ones are much better...)

nice little set but the design of the catapult could be better. I'll give it 6/10 :)

I'm sort of torn on this one. On the plus side, you have Black Falcons and grey rounded shields. I also have fond memories of combining it with 6059. However, I really didn't like the design of the catapult itself. I'll give it a 6.5/10, primarily for the shields and a bit of nostalgia.
