impulse sets?

Post by Tanotrooper »

Copied from eurobricks:

LEGO Impulse 5610 - Construction worker EUR 2,99
LEGO Impulse 5611 - Street cleaner/scavenger EUR 2,99
LEGO Impulse 5612 - Policeman EUR 2,99
LEGO Impulse 5613 - Firefighter EUR 2,99
LEGO Impulse 5614 - The Good Magician EUR 2,99
LEGO Impulse 5615 - The Knight EUR 2,99
LEGO Impulse 5616 - Mini Robot EUR 2,99
LEGO Impulse 5617 - Alien Jet EUR 2,99

most interesting are of course the knight and the magician...

are these minifig packs? If so, this will be a great day for army builders...

Very interesting. I don't know if you have seen this but Brickset had this to say:
Brickset.com wrote:I'm going to guess that 'impulse' is a range of small sets to encourage impulse buying, perhaps like the Playmobil sets that contain one figure and a couple of accessories.
If this is so, I am planning on picking up a handful :) .

Sounds like the old Shell gas station shop assortments of the late 1990s.

Impulse sets are usually those little bagged sets that sit near the front counter of the store. The latest example I can think of is the Kings Catapult.

I wonder what these will be like, they'll certainly have a mini-fig each, but what will the accessories be? Hmm....

Personally, I want to see the scavenger... Comes with trashcan, dumpster and a hobo digging through assorted trash...

I like the idea of these sets, but I'd have preferred having generic soldiers instead of knights, for army building purposes.

That sounds good.

Would it be to much to hope for that that the set 5615 - The Knight, be a mounted knight such as set 6009 The black Knight

I welcome that suggestion! I just hope the knight is different from the ones in the current castle sets or else 4 USD will seem kinda pricey just to get a generic knight.

I would welcome a 6009 style set, however I would imagine it will more likely be a minifig, several accessories, and some bricks to display said accessories, like the current Final Joust set.

To be clearn, though, I'd much prefer a 6009. Maybe one of the grill helm knights from the current more expensive sets.

If the figure has a printed torso, your problem would be solved.

If these are available, can we order them online? I hate shopping in stores, they never have what you are looking for.

Edit: Nevermind, Bricklink will be my source for figs, 3 EUR is about 5 CAD. Five dollars for a fig? Blech.

These sets do intrigue me... But I don't think I've ever seen a list of those "promotional sets" released with the other sets.
